A few tourists die / get injured every summer in hotels in Spain (Ibiza, Magaluf and places like that) from jumping to the pools from the room balconies while drunk.

So yeah, stupid as all hell.

Probably because there's about half the audience that thinks like you do.

I loved it, I genuinely thought it was a thought-provoking, unnerving and uncomfortable sci/fi flick. It's slow, plodding and ponderous, but I think it totally works for the tone and story of the film. It's not a movie I'll be rewatching a whole lot but there's a few movies I love that I won't see more than a handful of times for numerous, different reasons. To each their own. I definitely find it to be boring on some days, other days it's riveting to think on what the movie is saying about culture and our lifestyles/sexuality/how blind we are. Eat 'em all. But not after you show 'em your goodies.
