Damnit I should have thought of that one.

Ah well, the DMB one was good enough.

And, he's falling.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I think he didn't break the speed or freefall time records...

So essentially he got the record for highest jump.

Dunno, seems a bit disappointing from that aspect.

Wasn't that the main point?

Highest jump and highest man-balloon flight. And I agree on the disappointment factor. Wasn't his goal to break the speed and freefall time records anyway? I think they knew he would break the highest jump and highest man-balloon flight records anyway.

They have unconfirmed reports that he reached the speed of sound. They're doing calculations and I guess we'll just have to wait. I think he did break the speed record, speed of sound or not though.
I only listen to electro-post dubprog.  You've probably never heard of it.

Underwhelming for all the buildup to the event, but nonetheless impressive...although, impressive in an odd way that I don't care so much as to whether he succeeded, but moreso that it'd be far more cool to see what those heights do to a body when it splats on the Earth. Disappointment indeed.

Yes he did do that. But all the build up I read was about him breaking the speed of sound, which he didn't do.

Yea, he crushed it. Still missed out on the longest freefall by like 15 seconds, though. Bummer.

You certainly can tell he was at heights beyond what anyone else had done based on how they would even think about breaking both the speed record and longest free fall records in one jump.

He should have easily broken both those records, yet he didn't break the longest freefall one. He's got to be a bit disappointed, for sure.

Yeah, it came down under a parachute after the jump was done. Saw it on tv a couple of times before I stopped watching. The balloon itself is long gone though as far as I know  :lol
