song for a dead friend - kevin gilbert

Every time this thread comes up every 6 months or so, I mention this song.  I'm not surprised it was at the top of your list either.

I'm planning on making a show based around this idea. Not songs that make me bring a tear to my eye every time but a song that had at one point in time. This is what I have for the playlist:

Dredg- Bug Eyes
Alcest- Souvenirs d'un autre Monde
Paradise Lost- A Side You'll Never Know
Pain Of Salvation- A Trace Of Blood
Redemption- No Tickets to the Funeral
Strapping Young Lad- Almost Again
Stone Sour- Bother
Porcupine Tree- Shesmovedon
Opeth- Hope Leaves
Torche- Face The Wall
Anathema- Untouchable
Alice In Chains- Nutshell
Woods Of Ypres-  Kiss My Ashes (Goodbye)
Daylight Dies- Dismantling Devotion
Iced Earth- A Question Of Heaven
Dream Theater   - A Change Of Seasons
Devin Townsend- Stagnant

kings x-lines in the sand and goldielox
dream theater- through her eyes
john martyn- may you never
The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

I think that Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus's Hiljaista (Silent) and Lintu (Bird) are the only ones.

Not tears but i was really moved by I Dreamed a Dream song in the trailer for the movie adaption of Les Miserable even if i didn't really like Anne's voice it still gave me chills. Russell just looks so bad-ass!
