The Walking Dead, Season 3
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:34:12 AM »
Less than two weeks until it begins!!! I can't wait. On an almost daily basis, I have to debate with myself whether or not I want to watch the 4 minute trailer that was unveiled at Comic-con. I haven't gotten myself to watch it yet, and I think I am going to keep it that way. Since last season, I have read the first 50 or so comics. I have no clue what to expect. Obviously, the prison is where we are heading, but other than that is anyone's guess. There are so many differences in the comics up until this point, no one can really guess for sure.

What are everyone's predictions?

We should have a pool of how many times Carl almost gets himself killed.

Excited. The only negative thing I could say about the show (and lots of horror-stuff in general) is that it really bothers me when characters have to make idiotic things in order for scary scenes to appear. Like Carl wandering off and attracting a zombie to the farm, or Lori crashing a car on a desert road, that kind of shit.

Carl wandering off if kind of believable. Granted it's a zombie apocalypse, but he's still a kid. The only kid on top of that. While wandering off into the woulds is in fact a really stupid thing to do, it is something a kid might do. I know this may be hard to believe, but I did some incredibly stupid/dangerous stuff as a kid. Would I have ever approached a zombie knee deep in mud then pestered it by throwing rocks at it??? I doubt it.

Lori crashing is also highly believable.  :rollin

Haha yeah, those pictures are spot on. I think that some risks are hard to avoid, but lowering Glenn down a well to bring up a zombie was kinda.. lol.
It wouldn't be much entertainment if they brought tons of food/water out to an oilrig, but at least skip the idiotic things.  :lol

Glenn down the well was easily the dumbest 15 minutes in that show's history. I was face palming the whole time. I would imagine that if there were ever a zombie apocalypse, the smartest move would be head to Cape Cod or Florida and find some rich fuck's abandoned yacht. Sale 20 feet of the coast and you should be fine. I highly doubt zombies can swim, and if they could, their intestines hanging out of their stomachs would probably attract some predators.... but then you have zombie sharks, fuck.

Woot wooooot! It's gonna be a bumpy fucking ride! I'm so excited, they're going to be doing some crazy shit this season and fleshing out certain aspects that the comic only touched upon, so I hear. The 4-minute trailer is absolutely spoiler-free and doesn't reveal anything you wouldn't already know, but I can see where you're coming from. Either way, this season is going to be where shit really hits the fan. Season 2 was great, and Season 1 was an awesome start to the apocalypse, but now it's the humans turn to fuck shit up. AWESOME BLOSSOM.

RIP DTP.

From someone who has read the comics, this season should easily be the best they've done so far.

New Webisode series.

As for predictions, I'm calling for Lori, Carol, and Beth's Deaths, and the return of Morgan.

Regarding one of this characters... I hope the show doesn't shy away with what the comics did to one of them.

I..I don't think they should kill Carl. He..he's just a kid.

I fucking hate that forced stuttering shit he does. I hate child actors. They can't fucking act!

Anyway, I just realized (through the power of Wikipedia) that Maggie was on Supernatural. She's a much hotter Brit.

Robert Kirkman doesn't give a shit about that! Though I know he isn't the showrunner for the series.

I liked Dale though. I was sad when he died.

Carl, the terribly acting blonde chick, Carol, and Lori need to die.

Do you mean Beth or Andrea?

Andrea isn't going anywhere. I can guarantee that. Beth on the other hand is an obvious Red Shirt. She'll be Walker chow within the first few episodes.

I was devastated when Dale got attacked. The worst part was that he wasn't even bitten. He was the first to have to die from just regular wounds (that I remember anyway).

I'll watch it, but at this point there really isn't a character I like, I kinda just want them all to die.

I really like Daryl. I want to like Rick, but my hatred toward his wife and son rubs off on him. I really like Hershel.

POSSIBLE SPOILER! (kinda. More of a spoiler for the comics)
I think Hershel is going to take over the character that was Dale in the comic books.

That'd be pretty funny to see considering some of the things Dale does in the jail and Hershel's characters :lol

Though almost all the female characters are written horribly!

I think most of the females in this show are the ones to sort of drag it down, because they want to stay at one place, and while that is the smart thing to do, it's not the fun thing to watch. I guess Andrea is alright because she has a bit of fight in her, but the others are mostly "don't do this, don't do that, it's dangerous".

I think in a real zombie invasion, you'd have to constantly be on the move. Limited food and the build up of feces would make staying in one place for a long time hard. That is unless you had some kind of farm out in the middle of nowhere with livestock, several wells, and plenty of things to kill zombies with.
