Sir Guitar Cozmo filled in for our lead guitar player Saturday night. For those of you who don't know, he's amazing!

If it would have been any other night, you could have. Our other guitarist's wife tapes us, but she couldn't be there.

When is somebody going to cover that "Cleveland Rocks" song and change it to "Cozmo Rocks"?! :metal

Pretty cool, 2 DTFers playing one the same stage, I believe that's a first!
Are you the singer 2Timer?

Indeed he is, on that song, at least.  Everyone in the band sings except the guitarist I was filling in for.  Funny enough, I sang at least one song that night.  :lol

Thanks 2Timer, and everyone.  It was a really great night and we both had a hell of a lot of fun (aside from driving 11 miles out further into the sticks to procure some mic stands).  Everybody in the band seemed to be of the mindset that if it weren't for the fact that I'm already in two bands and the fact that it's fairly long-distance for me to drive to practice and gigs, that I'd already be in the band, which is extremely flattering.

And for the record, 2Timer can tear up a keyboard like I have NEVER seen, at least not in a local band.  The only time I have ever seen people play keyboard like that is in bands like DT and Deep Purple and such.  Fittingly, we did Smoke on the Water and he did a keyboard solo at the end.  I'm standing there playing the riff, just watching and I know I had a smile on my face, incredulous that anybody could play like that.  Awesome.

Thanks for the compliments, Coz. I did have a pretty good night, playing-wise. Must have just wanted to jam for some reason ;)

When I did my sound check, I played a little of Take the Time, not really realizing that Cozmo was on the stage, and he threw the guitar part in. I'm sure no one but the 2 of us knew. Then later, I was walking around the club and I heard TROAE, and sure enough, there he was, doing his sound check.  :lol

Reminds me of one of my favourite moments in The Simpsons, during the Rock Camp episode.

"We will now start with the basic: playing a flaming guitar with your teeth."

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I specifically told him before the show, 'no playing guitar with your teeth. We don't do that.'
 ;)
Btw, please feel free to send me more pics of that night.

is that an ibanez jo satch model i see there? i used to have one of those :-)
The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

It definitely IS an  Ibanez S-Series, but not specifically a Satch model.  Here's a better look at it.
