I've been on a nostalgia trip lately, and I'm looking for a book that I used to love in my younger days. I think it came out when Goosebumps was starting to reach the peak of its popularity, spawning hundreds of knockoffs. One of those knockoffs was this book.
I remember one of the protagonists lived with his guardian (dad? uncle?) in a house that had a mortuary in the basement, I think. One day, they receive a body that eventually comes to life and starts wreaking havoc. I think it eventually leaves their house and they have to chase it through town.
The ONLY piece of dialogue I remember is one of the protagonists answering the phone "[So-and-so]'s Mortuary! You stab 'em, we slab 'em!"
The cover art of the book is the corpse's feet sticking out of the body fridge with a clearly visible toe tag.
That is literally ALL I remember from the book, and even those details are quite fuzzy, if even correct.
