So who was at the Sydney show? I wonder if I saw anyone from here. I was at the meet n greet, in case anyone else was there.

I was there my my young bloke - we were looking around - reckon he was the youngest there (8yrs).  We were on the side concourse.  From last to this year I believe no one song was repeated.....completely different setlists.

The sound was *amazing*.

Also I said to the young bloke now if James lets an F-bomb rip we don't repeat it okay.  Half way through the night he says dad James hasn't said anything at all to the crowd.  The one time he does...f-bomb lol.

Brilliant night.  Very healthy crowd - and great enerygy as James said.  Let's not foget Robbie Fowler was in Sydney with the Fury playing against Sydney FC, also some car race thing with Chisel playing over at Homebush.  So for all that, it was more than 3/4 full.

Anywho, I have a doubt. Didn't DT have their A-rig last time they went to Australia in the Chaos tour? I recall seeing some Aussie pics from their concerts and seeing MP's 3 bass-drums kit. Or I'm just on acid trip?
Def a B-rig this time compared to their A-rig last tour.

So what you Australian concert-goers say that length of the sets are... 2 hours or so?

Yeah, It was right about two hours. And we definitely got the B-rig this time, unlike last time.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

When Dream Theater travel to certain countries, they'll take less equipment to keep the costs of transporting all of their gear down. That is their B-rig, which you'll spot by MP's smaller drumkit (with only two bass drums instead of three), and JR using one of his older, lighter keyboard stands, and a much less fancy continuum stand. The A-rig is of course their full rig that they'll use for places such as the US.

2hrs 15mins.

PoS had 45min....very good too!

The intro music for DT started bang on 9pm...TCoT finished 11:15-11:20 or so.

I was just thinking that if The Shattered Fortress or The Best of Times doesn't come out on this tour, this will be the first album tour where 2 songs weren't played off that album.

Doubt it.  I mean, how many shows are left?  I doubt they'd go through the trouble of rehearsing for a one-off.

Me too.  Unless they're preparing something for Melbourne's second night, but there are plenty of other songs played so far this tour to cover a second night.

I had not been following the set lists for this leg like I had fir the rest of the tour, but Sydney got one he'll of a set.  Looks like a longer concert than some of the other sets in this leg.  Sydneys shows looks like one that would have been recorded for a DVD since they played 4 new songs and the others had all been staples for this tour.

They already repeated some songs that were played in Melbourne last time, but that's expected since they are there two nights.  What do you think they'll open and close with assuming they don't repeat ANTR and TCOT?

I can see them closing with Metropolis or a medley, but I can't see them not opening with ANTR.

That's not necessarily a bad set, it just seems so... not special... for a second night in the same city and venue (I understand that that does not mean that it will be special, but that is usually the case with Dream Theater).

That set was actually pretty good.

The Mirror and Lie had interchanged sections before The Mirror guitar solo. That was awesome I thought.

Damn I was thinking they'd switch up the opener or encore for the Melbourne dates. Part of me was hoping they'd switch TCOT for ACOS on the second day. Good sets nonetheless.
