That's an "all killer" setlist right there.

I remember that show.  As with almost everything from that tour, there is a bootleg.

No kidding.  It really did seem like every show from that tour was recorded.  And a lot of them were good.

To me, the Train Of Thought tour was THE BEST tour by any band in the history of music. It was Zepplinesque!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I totally agree with you. I checked out the setlist of the ToT tour here in Quebec and Montreal and they were the best they've done here. And as I can see, it's pretty much this everywhere they've been.
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

DT performs slightly better these days and has a better sound, but for quality of setlists, those days were just incredible. I was at that Hammersmith show :D

In fact I'm still very jealous to everyone who's had the chance to see Sacrificed Sons and In The Name of God on PN. I enjoyed the setlist we got a lot too, but compared to some others, especially Stockholm, it turns out pretty pale... Though One Last Time was a bit of a reward. ;)

I always think that the SDOIT tour was the best they've done.  James did have some off nights, but the sets were fantastic and the shows were fresh.

Me! (first post :) )

Anyway, setlist was:

A Nightmare to Remember
A Rite of Passage
Hollow Years
Rudess' Solo
Erotomania
Voices
In the Name of God
The Count of Tuscany

After Voices there was also funny short interlude. Some dance music started playing and all the other PN bands came on stage and danced for a while before DT started playing ITNOG.

Glad I didn't travel to Slovenia, I've seen most of these songs in july. I would regret if they had played Mirror, Lie, Wither, Dance of eternity and One last time.

Hell yeah. Not a bad song on that setlist. Hopefully we get those songs in Australia, except for Erotomania/Voices which we got last time. I expect we'll get The Mirror and Lie.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if we got TDOE / One Last Time since that's been on the master setlist this tour. I think they'll probably again want a good mix of every era, and if they play anything from SFAM, that will most likely be it.

From what Mike says here, I get the impression we won't be seeing ProgNation for a while. I know he doesn't say it explicitly, but it seems to be the gist.

Here are a couple of interesting answers from a recent interview with MP (https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=7573.msg236165#msg236165):

"FROM NATALIE GLADKAYA:
When you’re playing complicated drum patterns, why do you sometimes hit yourself on the head? Also, is there any chance of Dream Theater bringing back ‘An Evening with Dream Theater’ format for your live shows? And have you considered doing any more acoustic / unplugged shows?

I don’t know why I hit myself in the head, I’m starting to think maybe I should stop - I’m fearing a brain aneurysm coming on! And yeah, it’s very possible that the ‘Evening with...’ format will come back in the future. We needed a break from it, but now having had that break for several years, it may make sense to mix it up and bring it back. With the acoustic shows, I never say never, it’s possible. I’m not much of a fan of the whole unplugged thing- it’s kinda cliche and every band does it. We did some shows like that back in the late nineties and it was fun, it was different, so I never say never but right now there are no plans."

FROM DAVID FITCH, BRAMBLETON, VIRGINIA:
Is there any chance you will be putting out a Progressive Nation DVD?

I would have liked to have, but no, it’s not on the cards. This album and tour cycle will be the first without a DVD, but I think that’s ok, I hate always doing the same pattern or the same formula.

And this  :lol :

FROM STEVEN LUCAS, LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK:
I assume that an octavarium, and being ‘trapped inside’ one, is a way of describing the helplessness of having to adhere to and obey the rules of music theory, and that despite the perception of creative freedom, one is not truly free in that any melody he or she may compose will unfailingly consist of a series of the same twelve notes, in a veiled metaphorical allusion to the real confines and limitations of daily life. Am I correct?

    No.

Well, nice that they may bring Evening With... format back, and very sad that no DVD of this tour will be released. He said nothing about if they're still doing the second American leg though. Also,  :lol at the final question.

Do you suppose that applies just to the ProgNation tour, or is it definite that we won't be getting a Black Clouds live DVD?
