First off I just want to say I'm really sorry for the delay, people started coming and visiting Saturday and I didn't have any time off until late Monday. Tuesday I had to play tour guide to a girl who is visiting. Anyway, life is back to normal for me so regular updates will be happening. Sorry again guys I know how annoying it can be waiting for results.
Round 2 Results!!:Xanthul - Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Moya" -
7 points- First Listen: I've heard of this band but never had the chance to listen to them so I'm excited. I like the slow build up with the strings which falls into the single guitar riff then another build up. Really good song and I like it right from the first spin.
- Subsequent Listens: This song is so dark and haunting and I really like every second of it. It's certainly not rushed and it doesn't drag, every additional listen I enjoy it more and more.
Kari - Arvo Part - "Spiegel Im Spiegel" -
7 points- First Listen: You were right in saying I should lay down and listen to this, it's a very soft, and soothing track. Something I'd put into my evening playlist mixed up with Ludovico Einaudi. It's subtle and quiet, perfect background music.
- Subsequent Listens: I don't really have much to add from my first listen. Good track when I'm in the mood to listen to it.
Scorpion - Marty Friedman - "Vallay Of Eternity" -
6 points- First Listen: Love the first half, liked the second half, I think it just may be a side effect from listening to Xanthul's and Kari's track before yours. I love his guitar tone, it's stellar, I do not like the keyboard, I don't know when this song was recorded but it has that kinda cheesy keyboard vibe to me.
- Subsequent Listens: Good track, it's a keeper but not something I would see myself listening to a lot. That said, his guitar tone is my favorite part of the song.
Ravenheart - Nine Inch Nails - "Just Like You Imagined" -
5 points- First Listen: A little weary when I saw NIN, I've never liked the little I've heard from them but I'm excited to see what a no vocals track is like. It's pretty solid track but forgettable. Nothing really seems to stand out to me.
- Subsequent Listens: Nothing really takes me in, still a forgettable track IMO.
Sigz - Floex - "Veronika's Dream" -
6 points- First Listen: Great mix of acoustic and electronic instruments. Hard to give a real opinion on the track with my first listen, but I'm looking forward to more listens.
- Subsequent Listens: Nice progression throughout the whole song, I like the pace of it and would certainly be interested in hearing more from the band.
Ultimetalhead - Estradasphere - "Smuggled Mutation" -
6 points- First Listen: The opening reminds me of being back in my home country lol. This song is nuts, not something I would go out of my way to listen to but interesting nonetheless.
- Subsequent Listens: I really dig this track but I don't see myself listening to it all that often, I was going to give it a five but I like it more than average so 6 it is!
Zantera - The Cinematic Orchestra- "Transformation" -
7 points- First Listen: Another track for my evening playlist. Beautiful track but something I have to be in the mood to listen to.
- Subsequent Listens: It's a great track, solid and fits perfectly in some of my playlists.
Nekov - Pat Metheny - "Ozark" -
7 points- First Listen: Good, energetic and upbeat song with fantastic piano playing.
- Subsequent Listens: I like this song but there is some rythemic clicking that happens at parts that really seems to distract me, I don't want to nip-pick but it's kinda distracting. The rest of the track is good, the piano still really shines through multiple listens.
Elite - Long Distance Calling - "The Figrin D'an Boogie" -
8 points- First Listen: Great Bass riff, good song. I get a huge Pink Floyd Dogs vibe from the song the first couple of minutes. I love the change up in pace in the middle. This song is fucking awesome!
- Subsequent Listens: Still as good as the first spin. The groove and the way the song is put together really appeal to me. I can't wait to hear more stuff from these guys.

Round 3 - Pick your adventure! So I had a few questions about my Round 3 so I decided I'd give an option so if you don't like one theme you can go with the other theme
- Option 1: Stripped down, basically what I mean with this is I want a band that doesn't have a polished sound with many layers, the more energy the band conveys the better. Sort of like a garage band only with better production (however poor production will not have a negative effect on your scores)
- Option 2: Live track; Send me a killer live track but to make it tougher I want a live track that isn't on a official studio release. For example if you were to send me DT's live version of "Pull Me Under" then that doesn't count because it's on an official release. B-sides ARE ALLOWED so DT's "To Live Forever" would be allowed even though it was released as a studio B-side in one fashion.
Bootlegs will be allowed, but only if they are high-quality bootlegs, I'll leave this to your discretion.
Questions just PM me
To those that submitted Round 3, if you think you'd do better with another option you can resubmit, just make sure to let me know which option you choose.
