A Dramatic Tour of Events - Farewell & Appreciation
« on: September 01, 2012, 08:43:08 PM »

Dream Theater retiring the white gloves and the red hat..
September 1st, 2012. The last date of this amazing chapter of Dream Theater history.
I have seen Dream Theater 4 times on this tour, twice on each U.S. leg.
Austin, October 26, 2011
Dallas, October 27, 2011
San Antonio, July 6, 2012
Austin, July 7, 2012

Definitely the best stage production for a Dream Theater tour ever, best set lists IMO and best vibe.
Share your experiences, tour dates and photos of this tour if you appreciate it as well. I'll share more of mine as soon as I have time to.
Thank you DT, I'm one happy camper of a fan and I think the bar has been set higher than ever this time.

Bye bye uni-cyclist, your journey has been a blast!

Those are awesome pictures!!

It was a great stage show and it will be exciting to see what they come up with next. Especially seeing as they said Evening With will be making a comeback on the next tour

My first show was the Beacon Theater last year. It was an awesome first DT concert and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I loved the setlist and the new material came off extremely well live. Can't wait until the next tour!

Good tour. Decent setlists (on both NA legs I saw), and excellent musicianship (as always). As a whole though, probably the least impressive tour since, well, ever I've seen them. Still a solid "B" but NOTHING close to the A+ tours with Mr. Portnoy!

Just sayin'..........

They confirmed that? I thought they only said they were considering it for future tours.

I was always under the impression that they were pretty sure that they would do Evening Withs again. I could be wrong though

My first Dream Theater show (and hopefully not my last) was on this tour. Truly a memorable experience!

From that show, probably my favorite version of "A Fortune in Lies":

Oh hey, you were at the Anaheim show? Me too! :tup
I've only been to two DT concerts, one on each NA leg of this awesome tour. Both were fantastic experiences, and I am greatly anticipating the upcoming DVD and whatever they work on next in the studio. :)

My first time seeing Dream Theater live is in this tour.

I was fortunate enough to have seen them with MP on the PN '09 tour, and I was actually surprised at how underwhelmed I was with the whole experience. Both shows on this past tour completely blew the Portnoy show I saw away. Just sayin'....

I saw Dream Theater once on each U.S Leg and they are my first two DT concerts. I am little disappointed I'll probably never get to see MP but there's no regrets what so ever. The performances were amazing, nothing like I've experienced, blown away. I am ready for the next tour and album. I brought friends that have no connection or intention to listen to DT and they enjoyed the show. There will always be that longing to go with people that can appreciate their music like us.

I saw them 2 times this tour (Verona and Milan, not counting the Mangini clinic :D) and i agree that this tour featured great setlist, awesome stage production ad a feeling between each member that was lost. I've done M&G in Milan and it was great to meet them personally even if a bit short. Nothing to say, I love ADTOE, i love this band and i'm sure that the next album will be mindblowing. Mangini really pumped new life in all the band!!

P.S: my first gig was back in the SFAM tour in Rome and that was really awesome.

Didn't see them on this tour, but based on the pics and videos I can say that this had their best stage production ever (lights, videos etc). The band seems happy and harmonious, Mike has proven to be a perfect fit, they have done an excellent album together and toured to support it, and shot a DVD from this tour. I can't wait to see what they will come up with to top this tour.

Appreciated.

I saw concerts of the last three tours,
The ADTOE tour is my absolute favourite, even if my single concert favourite show was last year 4th of juli the very first show with MM, he is a big part of the new DT stage performance imo much better than before! :heart :hefdaddy

I've seen them once during this tour, and once during the European Summer Tour in 2011. Both concerts were epic.

I can't say it had the best setlist because it's hard to compare a standard set to Evening With's, especially when in the SDOIT tour they played songs that they barely do now simply because they had nothing else to play, and TOT/Octavarium's tours had a huge amount of surprises.

Out of the standard setlists, the ones in this tour were definitely the best. Especially post-release, as ADTOE is easily one of my favorite DT albums, if not my favorite.

As for the show, DT really stepped it up.

Saw them twice, once on each European leg. Awesome shows, both of them.

Ditto for me. Both shows I went to were absolutey incredible (particularly the one I attended on the second European leg with its ADToE-heavy setlist... that particular live version of "Breaking All Illusions" is still soaring in my ears and mind). Looking in retrospect, I'm sure the DT guys have a whole lot of things to be proud about now that the (considerably long) ADToE tour is finally over. They've proven that they're perfectly able to keep the ball rolling and they did so without even skipping a beat. I'm so happy for them!
