Still one of my favourite albums.

I have ZERO problems with the music itself, and what you posted definitely makes sense. My issue is with the front cover only.

Seriously. That is hands-down Metallica's most iconic album cover. Gorgeous color, the logo cuts through like the flashing eyes of a demon and it evokes so much while using so little. Timeout for you Dillster

And the RtL cover is a classic. I also like the King Crimson cover which was posted here earlier. In the Finnish Uncyclopedia's page for prog, that cover art has a caption: A normal person forced to listening progressive music

I made it 30 albums in and then closed the tab since the stuff already posted in this thread was way better at showing the outer limits of horrible taste in cover art. The "I'm dying to be taken seriously as a writer for a marginal entertainment magazine" style of writing made it painful to even look through 40% of that link's inventory. They really should've trimmed it down to just 10 or 15 albums (if that list even contains that many keepers) and either focused on writing unshitty quips or avoiding the accompanying writeups period and letting the album covers speak for themselves.

I like the King Crimson ItCotCK cover. It's not pretty, but it's captivating in a really horrific and scary way, as opposed to "that's just awful".

I also like the KC album cover. To me it represents the decent into madness, which is the feeling I get when listening to King Crimson. (which is why I love them so much).
