Boston is such an excellent album.  How many albums can you name where EVERY SINGLE SONG is a classic rock radio staple?  This is the only one I can come up with.

Zeppelin IV Is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head.  But it's even more heavily weighted to 'the big three'. Misty Mountan Hop doesn't get much airtime ... Or Battle of Evermore for that matter.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

The Cars debut album also comes to mind as every song but 2 was on the radio.

The Maiden pick is nothing short of awesome, but the other two aren't really my cup of tea, I suppose.

Though I have to give you props for the speed at which you're moving with your list.  :tup

OK, a slight change in pace. Gonna get this one out of the way cause I know it won't get much attention, then move into the top seven....

8-The Kinks-One for the Road(1980)
Like the Dead, I had to pay some respects to my other favorite live band. Unlike the Dead however, choosing an album for The Kinks  was a no brainer. This one has had a stronghold in my regular rotation of music my whole life, and it will never leave that spot. It is free, it is rocking, it is fun. I think a lot of people forget that above all else, music is supposed to be fun and entertaining. You put it on, you rock out, simple enough. The Kinks are the essence of this vibe, and this album is it in full display. Even after thirty years, I still put this album on and rock out like a fucking idiot on an almost daily basis. This album is the sole reason why there are live albums on my list, I just couldn't leave it off and still represent my musical life honestly.

Suggested Songs:Catch Me Now I’m Falling, Celluloid Heroes, Twentieth Century Man, Hardway, Superman, Low Budget,Lola, Misfits, etc. So much good shit here.

OK, a little note about the top seven, after no. seven, the top six are pretty much interchangeable. Any one of them could be no. 1 on any given day. I will release one at a time, hopefully finishing up Sunday night.

You know RJ.  Seeing all the old album covers like The Kinks-One for the Road reminds mw of my youth spending hours at a record store with $8.00 in my pocket burning a hole through my pants.  I just loved hanging out at the record stoe.

The one place, my cousin and I would go get him lunch at McDonalds and he's give us each a 45.  That Kinks live album brings back so many memories.

Kinda funny, just off the list are about a billion albums at no. 51. That was the hardest part, figuring out what to leave off.

And on and on it goes.....

7-Triumph-Allied Forces(1981)
God I love this album. I’m just gonna say that the song Magic Power was the one that made me fall in love with music. It showed  me that music is more than just notes and lyrics, but can also be a buddy, a trusted friend, a shoulder to cry on, a celebratory hug, and a friendly voice on a very lonely night. This song opend up the doors inside for music to enter my soul, and it has never closed. Many other killer songs here too though. Even though Just a Game might have been my first favorite album, the love for this one will never die. Such a great combination of killer songs, inspirational messages, and mindblowing instrumental work. I will never, ever, stop listening to this album.

"Turn it on, turn it up, it's your turn to dream, a little magic power makes it better than it seems. I'm young now, I'm wild now, I want to be free, I got the magic power of the music in me."   Fuck. Yes.

Suggested Songs:Magic Power, Fight the Good Fight,Fool for your Love, Ordinary Man,Allied Forces

Ah, the Beast! Everyone seems to always 'forget' Invaders, though. What a killer album opener! This one also blew the Metal (although I'm sure it was called 'Hardrock' in those days) doors wide open. Six! Six! Six!  :metal

Next up on the stool, we got a sight to make you drool.....

6-Pink Floyd-The Wall(1979)
I don’t feel any description of this album is necessary here, so I won’t bother. What is important is what this album taught me. The Wall showed me to look for the meanings and story in the lyrics. To find how the nuances of the music affected the emotion of the story. How meanings and themes can jump from song to song, and that themes can reoccur from piece to piece. In other words, The Wall taught me how to listen to music in a whole new and wonderful way. Any tools I use to listen to and translate other albums, I learned here.

"Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter as the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?"

Suggested Songs: Goodbye Blue Sky, Mother, Comfortably Numb, The Trial

Number 5 will be up when I get home from work tonight....

Those first three albums might have the musical edge, but this one blows them out of the water when it comes to the storytelling aspect, I feel.

I agree. I like The Wall, but a few songs don't really do anything for me. They might be crucial to the storytelling, but I very rarely listen to lyrics - my focus is on the music.

Since you're liking the storytelling aspect, I just KNOW Kiss: Music From the Elder is going to be in the top 5, I just KNOW it!!  :lol

Oh that would be a nice surprise. That's an underrated album if there ever was one.
