Anyway that clip made me nostalgic...Tomb Raider was the game that got me into adventure games and TR2 was the first game i played on my playstation! Ahh the memories! :heart

Rumours are HL3 will be shown. Then again, those rumours are present before every game convention.

Update: Looks like this was yet another false Half-Life-related alarm. Valve told IGN that it will show no games at Gamescom 2012.

False alarm.

If you check the link leading to that official page and read the top of the page, it actually says that it used blogs and internet forums as sources. I don't get why anyone thought this was legit.

There really hasn't been much evidence besides a few bits of concept art. Probably the best indication is that Valve has stated multiple times that their dev model follows community expectations - they make things people think they're already making. I have a hard time Valve has just been like "meh, HL3's whatever, hats are really where it's at".

I'll stand by my thinking that if HL3 really is happening, it will be announce when Valve makes a new version of the Source engine. Which they should update since it starting to show its age.

Well I mean it took forever to make Duke Nukem Forever, but at least everyone knew they were working on it.  I was just wondering if there was some facts that Valve has actually been working on HL3.  Obviously the point you make would lead to us thinking they are, but with all the "they may show here" and then "Valve says they wont" it just leads me to ask, well... is there anything to show?

Oh yeah, sorry, bit of a leap in logic there. I seem to remember some article somewhere down the line where it was announced that the episodic thing was scrapped and that if and when they do return to Half Life, it'll be a full-blown sequel. IIRC it was posted in the last VG thread.

The key words if and when. It would be a shame if they weren't working it.

There's been concept art leaked here and there, comments on 'episode 3' vs. 'half life 3', and little things like filenames and spare code and such in other valve games that appear to have come from HL3, but nothing really concrete.

That said, I don't see any reason to believe they're not working on it - not developing it just doesn't vibe with Valve's MO. But until there's some actual news regarding it, I'm not gonna get worked up every time there's some rumor about it.

Here it is: https://www.gamespot.com/news/half-life-3-wait-explained-6372687

hmmm, thats interesting.  Sounds like the are working on it, but won't talk about it due to the issues they are having with it. I guess that makes sense.

Right, I think they've just been so under wraps because they want to really have a substantial product to show us, rather than just throwing together a tech demo for E3. Blizzard's old "it'll be ready when it's finished" philosophy.

Playing through ME3 right now on the PC.  The endings have already been spoiled for me, and with the EC's I don't think they're as terrible as people have made them out to be.  I think it's sad that many people are claiming their 100+ hours of roleplaying in the ME universe are now pointless because they hate the ending.  I've always hated the outlook that a bad ending completely ruins the journey...just don't agree at all.  I respect and understand that outlook, just can't empathize.

At any rate, playing on PC is a bit awkward right now as I've always played shooters on consoles.  Shooting/Sniping is incredibly accurate, though.  Just gotta get used to moving around and dodging those damn grenades.  Those things are one hit kills on hardcore and insanity with my weak Infiltrator...

Only 8 more days until the GW2 headstart! So who all is going to be there on headstart/release?

Also, I've been reading about an interesting indie MMO called City of Steam that's in alpha at the moment. For a game that has a client that's about 70 megabytes and runs in your browser, it looks surprisingly good.
