Always thought that Reb Beach is one hell of a guitarist. His non use of his little pinky finger certainly made him one of the most interesting players utilising the tapping technique.Played with real passion but was always disappointed that his solos were so short.Liked their first album but also remember they were the reason that made me a little hesitant to buy my first Dream Theater album - Images & Words.I had only heard 'Another Day' and wasn't in the mood to get another album like the Winger debut, which is what I thought it may have been.Anyway needless to say what a pleasant surprise I got.
This gentleman has taste, folks.
They literally tore the place down.

The venue was a small club beneath a popular restaurant in town. Total attendance was 150-175. Tickets were $25-30. There were two opening bands. No doubt that after expenses, Winger made no money on this show. They were pretty much there to play.
If Hair Metal offered nothing else, there were some damn good guitarists in there...Beach, Timmons, Lynch, Steve Lynch (Autograph), Ronni LeTekro (TNT), Vito Bratta (White Lion), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme)...
Well, since we're lumping fantastic guitarists from non-hair metal bands of the '80s into the hair crowd, I have to do a quick drive-by Dave Meniketti appreciation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT0rzxR6koE&feature=related (volume swells at 3:00 done the old-school way, and DAT SOLO! at 5:05... )Oh, and
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
Remember the mark of a great vocalist is if TAC hates them with a special passion

Wouldn't Gilbert be considered a product of hair metal (Mr. Big)? Vai had his hair band hey-day too (DLR/Whitesnake).
I guess it's not much different than MLB stars joining the Yankees. Follow the $$

Karma is an amazing album. Took me completely by surprise. I almost prefer Winger's Pull Me Under to Dream Theater's.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.
There's a 1:30 minute preview for all the songs on itunes. It seems they returned for a more hard rock album, like on Pull and Karma. For my part, I really love Winger IV and Better Days Comin'. I like Pull and Karma, but I think the first 2 are too much 80's hard rock for me (although I love Miles Away - guilty pleasure!), not my thing.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Kind of hoping it’s not too much like that, but I did read an interview where they hinted it was. Pull is their masterpiece, but it had a lot of depth to it with all the 12 string acoustic on it. They haven’t ever really recaptured that vibe. I like IV alright, but I thought Better Days Coming had a lot of good songs on it, probably their strongest album since Pull.
Hey, are there any OFFICIAL acoustic version of "Down Incognito" available? I saw an ALBUM called "Down Incognito" that looked to be acoustic versions of some of their hits, but I couldn't quite tell if it was legit, and/or if it was live. I don't mind "live" but I'd like it to be better than bootleg quality (there are plenty of fan filmed versions of Kip doing it solo and that's not working for me).
