Candlelight Records today confirms June 18th as the European release date, and the 19th of June for north America for 'Eremita', the much anticipated fourth album from Norwegian-born vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn.

Recorded and produced at Telemark's Ivory Shoulder Studios, with additional tracking completed at Notodden's Juke Joint Studio and Seattle's Envisage Audio, 'Eremita' was mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth) at Fascination Street Studios in Orebo, Sweden.

Alongside Ihsahn, the album features performances from drummer Tobias Ornes Andersen (Leprous), saxophonist Jorgen Munkeby (Shining-Norway), guitarist Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore), and vocalists Devin Townsend, Einar Solberg (Leprous), and Heidi S. Tveitan (StarofAsh).

The album's packaging has been created by award-winning Spanish designer Ritxi Ostariz.

The sax is back? YESSSSSS.

I loved After. My AOTY when it came out. This should be awesome. :D

not sure if he can ever outdo After, but this one sounds like it's gonna be near that level, and that is extremely exciting!

Had no idea he was doing a new album. New song is great, heavier than After :metal:

YES!
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Just listened to this.

Album of the year to date. AMAZING.

It's really good.  It might even be better than After, it's more experimental at least, but I need to listen some more.

methinks i was right — a worthy successor and heir (and an amazing record without compare), but After still stands tall over it for me.

This, initially it is much much much much more catchy than After, I find myself constantly going back to it and listening, and humming the tunes later.

Right now I think After is better, but there's no shame to coming in second place to that. It's going to take a hell of an album to knock it out of my top spot, that's for sure.

I might need a few more listens before I figure out whether I prefer it to After or not. It's still got the warm fuzzy new album smell and it's affecting my judgement. In the meantime though:  :heart  :metal :D

I really need to pay more attention to Ihsahn. I really liked the last 2 Emperor albums and what I've heard of his solo music is great...I've just not heard entire albums.

After living with it for a while...yeah, it's my current album of the year. Ihsahn is just on a roll with his solo career.  :metal
