I'm pretty sure one of the most recent championships had an attendance of 100,000 people. For comparison, most superbowls have ~80k.

That has everything to do with venue capacity limitations and nothing to do with demand. You could probably sell out a 250k capacity venue if one could be made.

It wasn't meant to be a competition or anything, it was just a point of reference for how big that size of a crowd really is.

But yeah, Starcraft is one of the few 'sports' I actually enjoy watching. Far more interesting than football.
