I'm sure this has been done before, probably a billion times.  But as far as I am aware, it hasn't been done lately, and I'm curious.

What is your favorite part (/track/movement) of the song?
Sincerely,
Jaffa

Please give me an "all of dems!" option. :p You're asking me to choose my favourite child (and there aren't even any redheads to make the choice easier). I have never even listened to it as anything but one song.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

About To Crash, very closely followed by Solitary Shell.

Least favourite, Solitary Shell.

This I did not expect to see.   :lol

Thank you sir! :tup I was only half serious, but it's nice to not have to disappoint all of my other children.

You're right, though, it is a valid option and it should be there.

For the record, I was honestly originally going to type a ninth poll option: "'The whole song' AKA the BlobVanDam option".  I left it out only because I thought it might be rude to single you out.

the  :metal of The Test gets me fired up like nothing else

That's awesome to hear!  That track doesn't get nearly enough praise.

Jaffa

Impossible to chose, but if you want only one answer than it has to be The Test That Stumped Them All, closely followed by the rest. The only one I could do without is the overture. It makes sense in the great scheme of things but as a single track I find it rather meh.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

About to Crash and its reprise are my favorite movements with Solitary Shell a close second. At the same time, I don't like splitting them up.

No contest. The mix of beautiful melodies, touching lyrics and fantastic prog instrumental is just way too good.

I love all of it, but if I had to winnow it down, I'd say the part that grabs me and gets me pumped most often is the About to Crash reprise. That opening riff always puts a smile on my face. After that, my favorites are Solitary Shell and Goodnight Kiss. They were both a surprise because they went in a directions I didn't expect.

Goodnight Kiss is the worst part for me though. It's what drags the whole thing down. I know it's an intense 40 minutes and they needed a little break in the middle of it. I just didn't think Goodnight Kiss was that good... It was an Only Okay Night Kiss.

Goodnight Kiss.

Also, I was listening to Wagner earlier and noticed how much he obviously influenced Jordan on the overture of this song.

Another thing I don't like about Goodnight Kiss is the lyrics. I mean, overall they're nice, and the sentiment is nice. But good god, I DO NOT WANT to hear James LaBrie sing, "I'm just a poor girl".
