This is a crazy stat

Since 1997, I.e. for the last 15 years, TNT has been showing The Shawshank Redemption once every two months.

Spike may be approaching similar levels with Under Siege albeit not for as long since they were technically The Nashville Network back in '97.

That's pretty awesome. The Sy-fy channel or whatever has a similar statistic. Turns out they play non-sci-fi crap almost all day every day.

Dude.  Raptor Island is a classic.  Those dinosaurs look more down-to-earth than Spielberg's animatronics and Joss Whedon would be jealous of the dialogue.

And don't get me started on the camera work in Attack of the Sabertooths.

Such an unfairly underrated channel.

I love Shawshank Redemption. Such a great movie. So this is a great stat. Anyone else love the scene where they are drinking beer on the roof?

That's how you make a property a classic. Make it endlessly familiar. Don't get me wrong, that's a great movie, but by playing it nigh-constantly, Turner has turned it into a part of your life and made it a bona fide classic.

The masterpiece of this, of course, is how Christmas Story went from a modest moneymaker in the 80s to a beloved holiday classic. That was a work of marketing ART.

A Christmas Story is a good example of it too as it is played for 24 hours straight starting at 7 on Christmas Eve.

Also crazy that someone figured that out. I'm more interested in the number of half-hour slots TNT has devoted to airing reruns of Friends and Everyone Loves Raymond.
