Reverence- When Darkness Calls
« on: June 13, 2012, 12:30:27 PM »
Just stumbled upon this yesterday, and it blew me away. I went to Amazon buy order the CD, but could only get the download.

Anyway, here is a band formed by Bryan Holland (guitar) and Frank Saparti (bass) of Tokyo Blade along with Steve Wacholz (drummer from Savatage) and vocalist Todd Michael Hall.
This dude has some serious pipes!

This is good old school classic metal. Reminds me a lot of Spreading The Disease from Anthrax. Certainly no new gound here, but on a day when I bought the new Rush and Circus Maximus (which I really like them both!), Reverence has been the one that is kicking my ass.

Aparently, there is also a French Black Metal band by the same name. This is NOT that band. This is good old US metal based in Detroit!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Man, remember when this kind of metal was what you meant when you said power metal? Good old fashioned, straight up 80s style heavy metal here.  :metal
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings become dust in the wake of the hymn.
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall, no more than a breath on the wind.

This sounds really really cool. I have to get the album.

DTF is a blessing and a curse at the same time. During my four months here, I have been introduced to more music than in the four years before that. However, this is seriously affecting my finances. Fuck.

I meant the 80s version of power metal. Back then if you were heavier than commercial metal, but not thrash, you were considered power metal. It wasn't until the 90s that power metal came to mean speedy double bass with songs about dragons. Hell, early German power metal bands like Helloween and Rage were called speed metal back in the 80s. Trust me, this album is good old school, straight up metal.

Yeah wki, there is no Power Metal on this. It's classic metal that you'd like. In fact the singer is in Jack Starr's Burning Starr.

Wasn't crazy about the "Darkness calls" song but the other 2 were excellent
