Euro 2012
« on: June 09, 2012, 09:59:29 AM »
I know we have mainly Americans posting here, but there must be some people interested in real football right? I'm not a huge fan but I still enjoy the big tournaments.

Both matches yesterday were nice (although Russia - Czech Rep. wasn't that exciting after the 3-1 :p).

Netherlands - Denmark about to start!

Hopefully will be a good tournament. I fancied the dutch, but they're losing with 20 mins to go  :o.

First BIG game later on.. I have to say the Germans have an excellent squad - the team to beat IMO.

Highlight of the year has finally arrived! Been looking forward to this since the World Cup two years ago ended.

I don't think Sweden will go that far, but I can always hope. My favourites to win the tournament is Germany, with Spain as close 2nd. We'll soon see how the Germans will do in their first game - it's less than an hour away.

I meant 2 mins to go, not 20.. Surely Denmark can't get through the group of death!

Watched Poland - Greece yesterday and Netherlands - Denmark now, good stuff.
I'm not that surprised that Denmark won actually, as good as Netherlands are (especially if you see their team on paper) they've had enormous difficulties scoring in some games I've seen them. It's like seeing Arsenal play, there might be nice football, but it often takes 10-15 chances to get one goal.  :lol

I would love to see Germany tonight since I sorta root for them after Sweden, but I will probably be busy. Might see a game tomorrow, then I'm seeing both games on Monday if I can.

They're also playing a pretty tough team. Besides, there's 45 mins left. ;)

Let's hope we will see some nice games! I'm Greek, we had a huge opportunity to win yesterday with the penalty shot but we weren't lucky. I have placed a bet on Germany to win now and I wait for them to score!
I believe Spain will be the champion like in Euro 2008.

Well, my country failed miserably. For some reason, whenever the Dutch team is behind, they can't manage to score any goals, whereas when they're leading they will win the match. A very disappointing start. Wednesday is the match against germany, so I'm sort-of looking forward to that.
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.

Netherlands had so many opportunities and the ref did not help them out much either.

Not a good game by Germany, but a win is a win. The match on Wednesday against Holland will be interesting.  :coolio

Yeah, Germany - Netherlands will be really interesting indeed. If Germany wins it, even with as little as 1-0, then its pretty much over for the Dutchmen in this tournament.

Arrived at 8:40pm in Heathrow airport, Germany game started at 8:45pm. I actually made the shuttle driver put on the game on the radio and managed to catch the goal! :lol

Predictions for today:

Spain 2-0 Italy
Ireland 2-1 Croatia

I actually think Ireland will make it through this group in 2nd place. Italy aren't that strong at the moment, and Croatia rely too much on Modric having a good game.

Already nervous about the England game tomorrow. I do think we're very solid defensively, but worried about where the goals are going to come from without Rooney. Predicting a 1-1 draw.

After Germany I could see any of the other 3 getting through in that group.. pretty sure the Germans will get better after the first game.

As for England, it's great they have low expectations, I feel I won't be as disappointed as the last few tournaments if they fail. I can't see us beating the French, but you never know!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the spain - quite amazing really that the german's are being fancied more than them given their recent tournament pedigree.. I think it's a tough call between those 2 sides.

4-6-0 formation for Spain. I'm slightly surprised they're not playing a striker, the Italy defence is hardly rock solid.

Ready to lose.
Too much players from Juventus to hope in a good result. Plus, we have Balotelli, which abilities are equal to his stupidity.

But Juventus were unbeaten last season, so how is many Juve-players bad? :P

Italy looks decent so far. Cassanop playing well and Italy's defense doing well. But I think that is a product of Spains formation. Its not working for them. I predict some subs in the 2nd half for Spain. They need at least 1 true forward. and on a side note, get fuckin Balotelli the fuck out of there. a waste of human space.

Italy are playing very well, much better than I expected. Spain need a striker on, they can pass it all they want but they're not creating enough goalscoring chances.

Because last Serie A season sucked, so juventus unbeated means nothing.
And because i'm interista, of course :D
Anyway, not bad at all as for now, just one problem: the purpose should be to win the game, not just to control it, so please Prandelli, put Di Natale or Giovinco in!.

YES, get the human waste of space out of there. Di Natale or Cassano will score and Italy will win 1-0. Spian needs a forward. Fuck em anyway!
