Drinking again, will be on the Sam Smiths tomorrow too. Tried a few drinks of absinthe too after about 6/7 pints + some Jager. Fairly sober considering, think I have an unreasonably high tolerance, haven't been drunk drunk, in a long time :/

This guy is "durnk"! (sic [which quite frankly, I've never fully understood the usage of]). Goddamn it's been many moons since I got drunk, but with a designated driver tonight I felt free to let it all go. Half a bottle of soco and 2 white russians (with balieys instead of milk) later I was good to go. I'm drunk enough to bother making htis post even though I know ther's no point.

It's for when you're quoting a misspelling so the reader will realize that the typo existed in the original text and is not an actual misspelling on your part.

Thank you muchly. That's what I figured, (and I assume I used it correctly given that I was quoting or at least referencing a former title for the drunk thread) but I've seen it used many a time in a way that made me question whether that's what it means or not.

Furthermore, does anyone have any suggestions for effectively sobering up? I certainly like being drunk when I'm out and about and with my friends, but I'm always in for a shitty sleep if I go to bed drunk.

I just downed a bowl of peanuts and much water, and I'm more sober than I was, but I'd be up for learning some more effective (and less carb intensive) solutions to sobering up.

The water was a great idea but the peanuts were kind of a shitty one. Water will help offset some of the dry mouth you'll wake up with after a night of boozing and thin out the alcohol's attack on your system in a more gradual manner but even unsalted peanuts are fairly dry and can cancel out some of the water's benefits. I'd think white meat chicken or tuna would be good since they'll nourish you without much carbs or fat and absorb a little alcohol too but in general conventional wisdom/belief is that greasy foods kill off a potential hangover best (don't know if it's true or not.)

There's ways to avoid hangovers (staying hydrated mainly, juices and such are also good), but once the alcohol's in your blood there's really no way to truly to sober up besides time. Coffee/caffeine and other stimulants will offset some of the effects of it, but if you're trying to sleep they're not gonna help.

Well, that's unfortunate. I've never suffered from hangovers, so that wasn't the concern. I just sleep terribly when I'm drunk.
