Update time.
43. "Follow Me" - Uncle Kracker - 2000
Meh. I wouldn't say it's nearly bad enough for this list. Nothing I'd go around listening to when I can listen to stuff that's more my forte, but I don't see what's made it this decried. I mean, I could come up with a laundry list of things that could make it more interesting IMO, but nothing really offends me. Then again, that pseudonym is so dumb, I guess he ought to be knocked down a few pegs, eh?
42. "The Sounds of Silence" - Simon & Garfunkel - 1965
What did Simon and/or Garfunkel do to the author's family and loved ones?
This is a great tune! I actually just heard it for the first time and it actually makes me want to hear more from this duo, see what's their deal. They lyrical content is very strong for the time and in general. Best song I've heard from this list, so far.
41. "We Didn't Start the Fire" - Billy Joel - 1989
It's The End Of The World As We Know It is a much better list-a-bunch-of-nouns song.
But it's still catchy and enjoyable as a novelty song. I prefer his earlier stuff that isn't slathered in 80s, but, like, when this comes on the radio when I'm at the wheel, I'm happy to rock out to it. It's a dumb song, but a like-able one, plus it's fun to recognize the majority of the references. And really, bashing it for not being a cohesive history of the mid to late 20th century is a bit silly. The damn thing's what? 4, 5 minutes long?
40. "I Wanna Sex You Up" - Color Me Badd - 1991
So this is the sort of music that later lead to many a R&B ballad with creepy lyrics that I don't actively listen to, nor care about.
I feel massively indifferent about it.
At least I'm Too Sexy was funny.
