Graduating from College
« on: May 13, 2012, 12:34:00 PM »
Anyone else here in a "Class of 2012" somewhere? I graduated yesterday and it's really hitting me today. I'm currently packing up to move out of a place I've lived for three years and will never come back to. I'm not the most nostalgic of people, but it's certainly a weird feeling! Excited to see what the future holds.

Not college, but I'm graduating from Grad School this year. That counts, right?

Class of 2011 here. I went straight to law school after I graduated but it's still weird as fuck to consider myself a graduate student. It doesn't seem like I graduated a year ago at all. It's weird to think my life will probably never be as fun or awesome again as it was during college.

One year of university left, so I'll be in a similar position a year from now. It's a much bigger change than simply going from school to university. Glad to see you're feeling positive and excited about moving on and not dreading it  :tup

Congrats to everyone graduating, but speaking from personal experience, it can be a bit bittersweet.  When I graduated back in December of '06, I almost immediately was left with this "Okay, what now?" feeling, which can happen when your work so long and hard towards a single goal, and then, just like that, it's over.

Yep. Keep in touch with friends but make a new path for yourself. Two years removed and I've been employed almost a full year, have my own place and a slew of new and rekindled friendships. Also be smart about paying those loans back.

Yea it's such a weird feeling, it took me over a year to get over the "What now feeling" and I'm still questioning my career choices every now and then.

Congrats to all you peeps. It's gonna take me a fifth year to graduate, though I'm only going to be doing my senior design project next year so I'm done with normal classes after this quarter.
