Courageous or Stupid?
« on: May 11, 2012, 05:19:50 PM »
So earlier, when I got home, I let my golden retriever into the house. About 10 minutes later, as I was heading out the door, he started yelping. Very very loud. Somehow, he had his paw stuck in the coffee table. He had it wedged in one of the small spaces by the legs, and he couldn't remove it. So I go over and help try to remove it. It wouldn't budge. I had to use both hands. So since he was in pain, he was biting the shit out of my arms and hands, and these bites were the real fuckin' deal. So after about two minutes, I finally release it. I look and my right arm is bruised up and bloody and my hands are dripping blood. He is fine though. So moments ago, my sister said I was stupid for doing it. Hell, I thought it was brave of me. I knew what I was in for, and did it anyway. So, which was it?

Well it was the right thing to so, so I guess the former.

This.  And good job.  :tup (although I might have thought about trying to feed him some sleeping pills first :lol )

Both.  There were smarter ways to deal with the problem, but it still took balls to go through with the method you chose.

It's neither courageous nor stupid. But it was the right thing to do. Go you.

You love your dog, and did what you had to do to help him, no stupidity there at all.

Stupid, sorry. :lol

You just ignored any option to protect yourself.  I suppose courageous applies simply because you faced the pain, but it just doesn't feel right since it was needless.

Certainly both. It was a stupid decision to not use any kind of protection for your hands or muzzle the dog temporarily, but I'd do the exact same for my dog (P.S. I would let a human rot there, and I'd piss on him/her whilst they were rotting  :-*, then I'd take their money and if they had no money I'd slap them). You did do the right thing in helping the poor lad, and I don't know how severely it was wedged, so time may very well have been a factor in how much damage was done to the paw, but there were most likely better ways to go about it. However, if I were in that situation I would probably want to help as fast as possible as well; so I salute you sir, WOOF WOOOOOOF!! Battle scars FTW. Plus, now when people ask you can say that you fought off two T-Rex dinosaurs and that's all the damage you got, and you killed the last one (there were three, remember) by breaking open it's jaw and crushing it's skull. You were also on an island full of crazy creatures and were protecting a half-naked damsel. You then killed Jack Black. They'll believe you. You have scars.

Eh, I'm too lazy :p. Plus, it doesn't look as bad now.

Yeah, I probably should have used some sort of shield. I was just acting quickly and he was loud as hell, so I wanted to get that over with  :lol

I felt sorry for him. Right after I got it out, he started shaking, and was licking my hand. He thought I was gonna be mad at him. He's alright though. I personally think he was a drama queen about it  :lol

It was Courageously Stupid. He must've been in a lot of pain if he bit your hand while you were helping him.

I thought I'd seen my four do impressively silly things, but whatever, you're a good man. Retriever breeds are awesome too.

Courageous. You did what was right for the dog, even if you were going to get hurt. Well done.
