It physically exhausts Jordan to have to end a video without saying "I'll see you all.. on the road \m/", he wanted to say it so bad heh
I'm not dragged into these contests this time, but eager to see all the contributions.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

I take this as confirmation of it being played on the upcoming tour, although many already expected that.

It should be great if they had announced the contest earlier, like a month ago. They give you only 19 days to make a video that is going to be shown in every show, it's a pretty big responsibility. Most videos are going to be only with the lyrics in them.

Sure sounds like it.

If they don't, it's a massively dicky fake-out. I'd call that 100% confirmation.

Bring on the tickle section!

Also, I like a. the cube backdrop (is that new?) and b. Jordan's glasses. Although I think I like Jordan's glasses ironically.

Its gotta! Now that I think about it that's very subtle but obvious way to confirm it will be played.

Or is he too much an insider already?

Took him about 7 months to do his 4 minute country video.  You think he could do a 10+ minute video in less than three weeks. :lol   He's too much of a perfectionist to try something like that (that's a compliment Blob).

Man, those guys are gonna have a lot of videos to watch in a short period of time.  They better have people screening and qualifying the best ones for them.

^ Hint, hint. ^

Through the roof excited they are adding this crazy difficult song to the setlist... can't wait!!!!

Just hope a "lyric video" does NOT win.   I think it would cheese up a classy live show to have lyrics zipping and flipping onscreen and so forth.  Yeah, 19 days i get it, not much time for alternatives but hopefully there is some DT fan with the time, means and creative spirit to serve the song some justice.

I did the 7 minute Erotomania video in exactly one month somehow, but 10 minutes in 3 weeks? Not a chance. :lol
I never do whole songs though, usually just a minute or so for each song. Do me proud DTF! I want someone from here to win it!

The deadline is definitely prohibitive... One does not simply walk into 10 minute videos.

I have an idea. However, I'm concerned because it's violent and contains copyrighted material. I think my video would be rejected for those reasons, even though it's not explicitly against the rules.

 :tup  THIS!

Their taking fan involvement to a new level by displaying it during their show.  The fan whose video is chosen is going to become a bit of DT's history.  Until now, I don't know of any band that's ever done something like this.

It would be nice if they got a webmaster who actually gave two fucks about the band. It's not long before Itchy starts spelling Theater the other way.

Definitely avoid copyrighted material.  The band will most likely have the winner sign a release that contains a grant of rights in which the winner claims owernship of all materials and indemnifies the band from any liability.  You do not want Disney seeking legal action because you used footage from "Prince of Persia" (for example).

bugger i wish they had played this in glasgow :-[
The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

We need Bosk to skim that contract.

It says the winner gets $1 for his/her efforts then is owed no further money and DT can use all of part of that video from then on for whatever they want :P

I know that seeing your video at every DT gig for that song would be cool but that does sound a bit stingy.

This one is pretty good  :omg:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0s0MQxmqIY

Very nice, but it might be considered too violent.

BTW: Is any of that from copyrighted material? Honestly, it seems "too good to be true."

The intro is all taken from the BMUBMD lyric video, don't know where the rest is from. But he obviously didn't make it himself. Not like he would have just went out and filmed all of that live footage, and you couldn't have even comped it all in the time that was given for that much footage, and he says in the comments that he couldn't find closer video for it.
I'm guessing from a TV show?

I figured. I only watched the first minute or so (at work). I suppose it would have been obvious if I watched the whole thing.

Yeah. The History channel does these programs about ancient-Greek wars. Couldn't tell ya which one that was, but it is stylistically the same as the one for the battle of Thermopylae. YouTube it.

edit: the one I am referencing is Last Stand of the 300.

^ Just watched some more of it and it becomes extremely obvious. I hope a genuinely great and original video shows up.

Nightwish just did this recently for their Crow, Owl, and Dove song, and the top three turned out really well (IMO).
