I'm a junior in college playing baseball on a scholly (any other college baseball players?? or high school for that matter?) and born and raised in fargo, nd. Ive never seen the movie so don't even ask, i know  so whatsup? I could use some bacon but don't know how to virtually create it.  :sadpanda:

Hello everyone!
I'm not really a Dream Theater fan anymore. I used to listen to them a lot. But I still like to follow the band and get every release they put out. I generally came here because I find a lot of people who listen to Dream Theater open minded and nice people. And this just seems like a nice place to me.

Welcome. Yeah, a lot of us don't listen to DT a whole lot anymore (well, I'll still have my phases), but we're still here cause it's just a great forum/community.

im 18 years from minnesota. I love dream theater, easily my favorite band. dream theater really changed my life. I used to only listen to christian music. im not saying theres anything wrong with christian music but its once i heard dream theater, i realized how incredibly boring it can be. once my cousin showed me dream theater about 2 years i immediately got in to bands like chevelle, the mars volta, muse, audioslave, and red hot chili peppers. Since then i have expanded my musical likings sooo far, for instance two of my favorite bands right now are protest the hero and between the buried and me, 2 bands that i never thought i would listen to seriously in my entire life. Even though i have only known of dream theater for 2 years, i have all of their cds and all dvds and i know pretty much everything there is to know about dream theater, so you could say im a pretty committed fan. I am soo greatful to have discovered dream theater because they completely changed my view on music.

k now that thats over, I am currently going to a community college working on generals and next year i plan on transferring to a 4 year college to major in music business to become an A&R coordinator.

just a list of other bands i love:alter bridge, andromeda, blackfield, circus maximus, an endless sporadic, filter, gordian knot, incubus, korn, linkin park, LTE, opeth, passion pit, porcupine tree, rush, spocks beard, system of a down, tool, 311.

I look forward to no longer having a life after discovering this website :)
The truth is the truth, so all you can do is live with it.

Hi,I'm Japanese active as recording or support bassist.
And a big fun of DT.
I've practiced many DT's songs, and improve my skill.

I posted several videos on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/user/nhbass1
There's no DT's songs, because of the copyright...
But I hope you enjoy :)

Sorry about my primitive English.
My best regards.

Hi everyone; I've been lurking here for the better part of the last couple months and finally decided to register. My name's Pete, and I'm from just outside Toronto. I'm 23 (turning 24 in like a week) and I've been a fan of Dream Theater for probably about 6 or 7 years. I'm not exactly new to the forum game - I moderated the biggest non-official Metallica forum on the net for a couple of years, so I hopefully shouldn't come off as too 'noobish'.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to contributing to some discussions here and, most likely, being turned on to a bunch of cool music and whathaveyou.

At first I thought the other guy named Seventh Son was back, and I was worried.

Welcome though, enjoy your stay.

Holy crap my computer science class was full of fail today.  It filled my fail quota for weeks.  Apparently the perimeter/area of a rectangle is one of the hardest concepts to grasp now in days.

I know how to calculate area and perimeter of a rectangle, so I think I'll be fine.

Additionally: there seems to be a past member named SeventhSon, and I've been advised to change screennames. The only real reason I chose this one is because the one I usually go by, Polaris, was taken already. This was the best one I could come up with in the minute or so I took to consider a screenname.

The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

I'm not really a newb since I was an avid poster on the original dreamtheater.net forums years ago, but I haven't really been back since.  After posting a bit on the last.fm Dream Theater forums, I realized I missed it.  So here I am  :)

Well maybe i should introduce myself then too. I'm new here but been a fan of Dream Theater since my band's guitarist (at the time) played me SDoIT (Disc 2) in the car (2002) as we were driving to the studio to record that band's debut EP (which co-incidentally was a concept album). I'm from Finland (28 y/o) and i'm a drummer, been playing the drums for about 18 years now. I don't consider myself a Dream Theater fanatic but i do enjoy their music, mostly releases up until 'Train of Thought'; the newer ones are still a work in progress. I have currently two bands; ENDRIVE (some kind of metalcore-ish -> www.myspace.com/endrive) and a new band CASSIE (postpop/postrock; whatever you wanna call it). So here i am! Ooh forgot to mention, i use and endorse Dream Cymbals (www.dreamcymbals.com)

peace love and understanding,
- torspo

Hey,

i seem to be well known on this site already thanks to acidrainlte....

but anyway, my name is Iain, i'm from scotland, and my favourite bands are DT and A7X.

i also run the unofficial avenged sevenfold forum over at https://chapter-four.info

we've recently merged with another a7x site called a7xfans, so now we're even bigger.

my favourite DT album is probably Awake.
