Balrog Boogie is fantastic, but I enjoy Rag Doll Physics just ever so slightly more than those two. If you haven't heard their second album, Sing Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious, you must ASAP. It's phenomenal.

Hey what's up, I'm Hoppipolla. I'm from the Seattle area although I frequently travel the left coast. I've been a DT fan since right before Train of Thought came out. My uncle, who passed away in 1996, was a huge dream theater fan also and unfortunately I was not old enough to enjoy them with him back then (I'm 24 now, he passed when I was 10).

I recently got to see them live for the first time at their one-off headlining show in Portland, which was amazing.

If I had to pick 2 favorite albums they would be Metropolis & Octavarium. I can't quite pick a favorite song yet, I've been working on that for awhile...

Sorry I haven't had time to photoshop myself a signature and find a good avatar yet, they will come in time.

I'll try to rundown some of my feelings about some songs and albums so you know a little more about my DT tastes..

1. I've listened to Octavarium (song) and A Change of Seasons more then any other DT songs. I would say that the live version of Octavarium is my favorite DT song of all time simply because JR's continuum work always amazes me. So Octavarium is my favorite epic

2. The Glass Prison is my favorite song in the AA-suite. Everything about it is amazing from start to finish. MP's drumming had never been so predominate up to that point.

3. Another Day is a song that I have dedicated to my Uncle and sometimes get too wrapped up into the song. The alternate take in GH+21 is almost better then the original.

4. I'm not much of a fan of WDDU because it simply doesn't feel like DT without Labrie. I really like "Afterlife" though and I love when they perform WDDU stuff live.

5. Space Dye Vest is my favorite song off of Awake

6. GLass Prison >> Repetence >> Root of all evil >> Shattered Fortress >> This Dying Soul

7.  Stream of Consciousness is my favorite song on Train of Thought. I'm not as big of a fan of "In The Name of God" as most people

8. The first album I listened to from start to finish was "Falling into Infinity" because one of my family members owned it. The first DT songs I ever listened to was "Glass Prison" & "Ytse Jam"

9. I always knew that Metropolis Pt 2 was a concept album but never once read online the entire story. I finally figured it all out a few months ago.

10. I am active within the DT bootleg community and love listening to live stuff almost as much as studio stuff.

Yes yes, sorry, I was trying to type too fast apparently before going to work.

SDV is beautiful, especially the lyrics. Plus, I'm a big fan of how DT uses samples throughout their music, so this song definitely does it for me.

Hey guys, I'm not really into metal at all much anymore but this seems like a really cool forum with a lot of good people, which is hard to come by.  I listen to a lot of classical and soundtrack.  I listen to I listen to a lot of ambient music and folk music.  Also ambient folk music.  I guess, to give a few names..... Pain of Salvation, Nick Drake, Gavin Castleton, Philip Glass, Yann Tiersen, The Dear Hunter, Damien Rice, Sufjan Stevens, Queen, The Beatles, Ulver, Alcest, Kevin Gilbert, John Adams (composer) Demians, Marillion, Tom Waits, Toy Matinee, Tori Amos, Chroma Key, Will Knox, John Williams, Jeremy Soule, Dare, Clint Mansell, Manes, Bang on a Can, Max Richter, The River Empires, and Kevin Gilbert.

I guess the most interesting thing I can say about myself is that I am a soundtrack composer.  I actually get paid to compose for local stuff (amateur video games and college presentations and what-not) and hopefully I will make it big on this.  I have also started producing for local hip hop acts.  I do make lots of other music simply for my enjoyment and put most of it here https://www.last.fm/music/Tremor+Control .  I am a mostly self-taught pianist, guitarist, cellist, drummer, thereminist and producer.  I guess you could say I am REALLY involved in music for my age of 15.

But that's not important, what's important is that abididiobibopdi fujficjfi avnvivnvo mbibombio bo.
