I've been lurking in the forums for a while so I may as well say hi.
First got into DT a couple years ago, before that was a fan of pretty much any thing hard rock/metal. Came in through Rock Band I guess, just was amazed by the badassishness of Panic Attack. I am now convinced that the only way that anyone could write Octavarium is if they were the fucking Jewish messiah. That is what Dream Theater is to me now. Other favorite songs are The Glass Prison (arpeggios have never been more intense), ItNoG, TCoT, and pretty much every one of their songs that are over 14 minutes long. Also into Coheed, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rush, and Zeppelin.
I'm finding new songs by DT every day and am freaking out that they're quickly becoming one of the only bands I listen to any more.
I'm a Jewish daywalker from southern Vermont. Wassap//?
EDIT: This un's a young un; got into their generic songs at 14, and since then have been shifting from CM and As I Am to Change of Seasons and, um, possibly Learning to Live (trying to get into it but having a bit of trouble. Everyone on this forum seems to rave about I&W and LtL, but I just can't interest myself in that spacey synth style Rudess was using in their earlier albums.)
