Knew that would be a bit of a risk, even though that whole album made my top 15  :lol. I feel pretty good about my newest submission, though.  :millahhhh

I'm sorry I kept all of you waiting, but just get it on without me.

Ok, sorry Elite. Thanks for participating thus far :)

Ok, will listen to Reaper's once more and post the results when I get back from work (5ish hours). Heres everyone elses if you want:

Round 6

Wolfking - Stratovarius - I'm Still Alive
I've heard a few songs by these guys before and I liked them, and this
was also pretty good. I really liked the vocalist and some really
catchy vocal melodies. Some really cool neoclassical sounding guitar
bits which I really liked. If I had a complaint I would say the
drumming got a little boring at times. To be honest I think you made a
good choice with the band, as all the other Stratovarius songs I've
heard I would rank 1-2 points higher. You just made an unlucky choice
with the song :p Also the song didn't really seem to fit the round criteria that well.
5 Points

Nekov - Von Hertzen Brothers - Bring Out The Sun (So Alive)
Beautiful soothing song, this is really what I was looking for this
round! I loved the layers of vocals that seem to build up and just
wash over you. The song seemed in no hurry to get anywhere which I
thought really suited it. The second half was a little different, but
just as good. Great submission!
7 Points

Jingle - Spocks Beard - At the End of the Day
Wow! A long one :lol I was really hoping it would be good and
thankfully it was. Great choice for the round too. Loved the intro and
the vocals were great throughout the song. I really loved that little
acoustic section at 5:00 in. Also the soloing at 13:00ish was really
great. Good submission, although to be honest the song could have been
some minutes shorter.
6 Points

Gorille - Foxy Shazam - Oh Lord
Cool little spoken words at the start of the song. Another good choice
for the round. Loved the chorus and the vocals were pretty catchy too.
Wierd video though :lol I can't really think of what else to say, just
really loved the vibe the song was giving off. Cool choice!
5 Points

Kari - The Jesus and Mary Chain - Just Like Honey
Quite a relieving song!  Very chilled and relaxing for sure. Quite
repetitive which I though helped this song as it really got you into a
soothing rythym.  The vocal style really enhanced that effect. I feel
the song cut off too sharply though which kinda eliminated some of the
mood that it was building up.
5 Points

Ravenheart - Kate Bush - Nocturn
I've looked up one or two of Kate Bush's songs on youtube and quite
liked them, I meant to get into her but that was quite a while ago and
I'd sort of forgotten about her. This was quite different though.
Really loved it! Definitely knocked down the round criteria, some
really beautiful vocals, and I loved how the song seemed to gradually
build up. The ending was especially awesome where the song changed and
the vocals got a little more up beat. Really no criticisms but if I
had to find one I would say, like Kari's submission that it seemed to
end a little too suddenly. Minor complaint though :)
8 Points

I'll post the points standings when I post Reapers results, along with Round 7  in a few hours :)

I'm sorry, I don't understand.  The criteria was to send a song after you found out that you have had a tumor taken out and you are free of cancer and is a huge relief.  I sent a song called I'm Still Alive and the lyrics are;

Look around turn around
You just might fall to the ground
Sail away break away
Damage done nothing to say
All my life I've felt like an outcast
But not anymore, a thing of the past
Feel the sun, got to run
Feels like life has just begun
All is new, different view
So many things that I will do
I'm leaving behind the things I don't need
And with confidence i'm planting the seed

I'm still alive
I'm ready to feel the wind in my hair
And I know there are so many things to share
I will write my story again
Masterplan of a new kind
I was lost but now I'm found
I'm still alive

And it didn't fit the criteria.....

I meant more in terms of the music than the lyrics. But I didn't take any marks off in that respect, it was just a little side comment because obviously everyone would listen to different kind of music in that situation. Don't get me wrong, I still really liked the song :) I didn't penalise anyone this round for not following the round criteria.

Reaper - Emancipator - Hill Sighed
Really great pick! Very relaxing and soothing song. I loved the way the instruments combined and the song had a really great sense of flow. Nice one!
7 Points

Ravenheart - 43
Reaper - 37
Kari - 34
Nekov - 33
Wolfking - 32
Gorille - 30
Jingle - 24

Round 7:
Ok, I'll go on a more definitive round criteria this time: I want a song with no drums/electronic beats/percussion anywhere in the song!

If it's a song that originally is known with a full band, but was re-arranged with an "acoustic" version, is that ok?

Is that all? I would have thought a lot of artists would have some songs in this manner. Just think of DT for instance: Wait for Sleep, The Silent Man, Far From Heaven...

That's fine, it's your roulette and can run it how ever you want, I didn't take offence, just a little confused.  IMO, I really don't see how the music alone could fit the type of specific criteria from the round without some lyrics being involved, but I'm glad no points were penalised.
