Ep. 5-16 ~ THE VACATION SOLUTION

4/5

It's good to see Sheldon getting taken down a few notches lately but it's also kind of tragic.  A train wreck that you want to look away from yet you can't.  I loved it when he attempted an apology by deflecting the blame to everyone but him but each time Amy would say "nooooooooo" before he could even get the 5th word out.

And, it's Bernadette's DAD that wants the pre-nup, not her, so why isn't she sticking up for Howard and herself and growing a spine?  If you think about it, Howard has a great job, going into space, lives with his mom (no mortgage), drives a Vespa (minimal gas/vehicle cost), is Jewish, and generally has no expenses so he's gotta be sitting on some money but they make it seem like he's just some gold-digging parasite.  However, if I think about all the money he may have spent on condoms, colognes, and Internet porn, then maybe he really is poor.

Best was when Leonard & Penny were talking about kids and he's like "someone has to stay home while you're cheating on me with Ryan Gosling... Leonard's got to get paid."

Ep. 5-17 ~ THE ROTHMAN DISINTEGRATION

4.5/5

I liked this episode cuz it didn't really focus on one theme or topic or situation, it seemed to be all over the place in a variety of locations.  Nothing really stood out about anything specific, I just thought it was a solid overall episode.

... but yeah, that picture, wtf.

Ep. 5-18 ~ THE WEREWOLF TRANSFORMATION

4.5/5

Ladies and gentlemen... HOWARD WOLOWITZ (Simon Helberg)!

This guy (the actor) is awesome, bottom line, he can do anything and everything that needs to be done.  What an amazing talent.  After the overnight survival training is some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen.  His facial expressions and movements were so priceless.

I think the main reason this episode works so well is that there are dozens of little fun gags and lines instead of 6 big ones.  The show works so much better when it's rapid-fire comedy.  I really love how Sheldon's Mom knows him so well that the only way to get him to shut up was to say she sent his haircut records to his new barber.

I still hate Amy but not as much as before.  I think it's cute how she's always trying to get Sheldon into bed but he doesn't get it... but she also wants Penny.

The end when Bernadette shows up to help Howard but his Mom is already there is priceless.

Count me in the camp that found it uncomfortable.  For some reason, this just seemed like one of the creepiest things involving Howard.  They've been playing Bernadette vs Mother for awhile now, too, it's getting stale.

I know this is a sitcom and all, but how many times is she gonna put up with Howard and his mother?
Joe and I in the same squad is basically the virtual equivalent of us plowing a rape van through an elementary school playground at recess.

I'm just happy to see some replies other than mine.

But, yeah, Howard's Mom already being there was really creepy.  If I were Bernadette I'd feel pretty 5th-wheel-ish and "wtf am I even here for if you always go to your Mom first".

No matter what happens... Sheldon has the worst hair in TV history.

Ep. 5-19 ~ THE WEEKEND VORTEX

5/5

I have nothing bad to say about this episode.  It hit on all cylinders.

The star of the show has to be the *whiplash* app, which is now the #1 app cuz of TBBT.  I love how almost everyone qualified, and got, the "you're whipped" punchline for being whipped.

Raj's tantrum at the end was also unexpected and closed-off that storyline perfectly.  The whole time Penny is trying to teach Amy how to make a scene to get her way and then Raj just goes and does it.

Howard is definitely the most whipped cuz he has 2 females owning him.

I don't get why they were wearing headsets, though, when they're all in the same room.

Great episode.

You seem to have forgotten that this is a sitcom.  That she's more successful than him is a running joke along the same lines as constantly pointing out that he "only" has a Master's degree.

I didn't forget, thanks though.

The "not a Ph.D" running joke is funny but, to me, this wasn't an appropriate way to continue it.  It just rubs me the wrong way.
More on this.  A friend of mine, who is about to earn a PhD, just had a long term relationship end partly because her partner could not accept his master's degree would mean he has to follow her for a career.  They had been planning on getting married.

You might not like the joke, but it is a valid comedic reflection of the realities of the situation.

That's pretty douchey but good it happened now instead of later so your friend can move on.  Stupid shallow morons bug me.

Ep. 5-20 ~ THE TRANSPORTER MALFUNCTION

5/5

Great stuff.  I think they wasted an opportunity to have Leonard Nimoy actually be on the screen and not just a voice.

I remember thinking what a bitch Penny was for getting Leonard a label maker and they held it so long and then when she finally gives him the toy and he freaks out it makes it all worth while.

The end when Sheldon kept saying "that's a lie" was awesome.

I really feel sorry for Raj, he has no identity whatsoever, he's just floating around.  I'm surprised he hasn't killed himself yet.  I hope they figure him out soon.

Ep. 5-21 ~ THE HAWKING EXCITATION

3/5

I don't really have much to say about this one.  I actually felt sorry for Sheldon while he was doing Howard's bidding.

And sad to say, Hawking isn't looking to good these days.

I just caught up with the show 2 weeks ago. I started watching in Syndication and then finally decided to watch in order. I watched seasons 3- tonight's episode in under a month. So it's easily my 2nd favorite comedy right now (right behind Archer).

Tonight's episode was great. So sad there's only 2 more episodes left this season.

I'm glad you're enjoying Big Bang Theory.  :)

You really need to check it out. If you are a Big Bang Theory fan you'd love Archer, all the smart nerdy references are there (plus plenty of Rush References as well)

Basically if James Bond was a total dick, that's the premise of Archer.

Ep. 5-23 ~ THE LAUNCH ACCELERATION

5.1/5

Probably one of the best episodes ever!

This might be the first time I can actually say I like Amy.  It's awesome how Sheldon is powerless to stop what's happening.

Leonard screws shit up again, he should know better by now.

I'd go into space in a second.

I think next week is the season finale.
