The best albums, by season
« on: April 18, 2012, 06:33:32 PM »
I have seen a lot if talk about albums being great during particular seasons, primarily due to the mood it invokes. I have not however seen a thread, so here it is. What are your favorite albums according to the seasons? You can give your single favorite, or many more.

On instinct alone, here are mine:
Winter- Agalloch ashes against the grain
Spring- Sigur Rós ( )
Summer- Tool lateralus
Autumn- Opeth ghost reveries

To be honest, ( ) could go in spring autumn or winter. But I don't think agalloch could go in anything besides winter or autumn, and I hardly consider Opeth to be winter. Summer was the most difficult pick (I guess that says something about my music taste). I'm sure you guys have some interesting picks.

Never thought about this, it will require a tremendous amount of thought on my part.(meaning scanning my library and picking four albums with barely a thought)

Fall - dredg - El Cielo
Winter - Ludovico Einaudi Islands

Those are the two that popped into my head immediately, I'll have to give spring and summer some thought.

Interesting to see Kvelertak get some love. I'd never heard of them, listening to some samples now on itunes. Sounds very interesting.

Oh yes, I definitely forgot The Wild Hunt! I also forgot Ágætis byrjun but I feel like it works in Spring as well.
