Studying Music
« on: April 18, 2012, 11:22:08 AM »
I'm going to take my school leaving exams in about two weeks and so far everyone assumed we would be allowed to skip all classes we wouldn't need for our respective subjects. However, that isn't the case. In fact, we have to stay in school the whole damn day. Most teachers allow us to learn for other exams if we don't take an exam in their subject, but we have to do it silently so that the other students are not disturbed by conversations.
Now here comes my problem: I can't learn while people around me are talking, but I can if there is some really calm music into my ears. So I plan to listen to my Ipod a lot during the next two weeks, and I need really soothing music, were nothing much is going on. (So that you know what I am talking about: Riceboy Sleeps by Jonsi  and Alex has proven to be pretty effective as studying music. It doesn't distract me if I'm doing something and with my headphones on I can't hear everyone else talking).
Thanks for recommendations!

Devin Townsend Project - Ghost
Sigur Ros - Pretty much anything they've done

That's pretty much the extent of my ambient studying music library.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
