Now, I've never been to an AC casino before.. but don't most of them have bars?

Yeah I went to the Borgata once and you can just go get a beer or ask a server thats walking around etc.

If you were gambling, the drinks were free but you obviously gotta tip the server.

Caesar's has potentially dozens of places, thus the purpose for the post.

Harrah's doesn't discriminate; they charge you at the bar or slot machines.

Yeah I'll most likely be at Caesar's during the day with a couple friends so if I see you, I'll say hi. In the e-mail I received from Ticketmaster, it said that we can get the new tickets from the Box Office at 4 PM as well.

So, about that official announcement from the band.....

As Scotty had said the band is working with the managers to resolve

https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0200489ED8F6AB37?artistid=744581&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=200

Ticketmaster is the one really dropping the ball on this the Chester show is listed as cancelled , so anyone with a ticket should have received notification from Ticketmaster directly (the bands don't control this, which is why some bands refuse to use ticketmaster) The A/C Date is listed but says tickets are not currently on sale

Until ticketmaster can straighten out their shit, people need to hang tight. I understand some people are travleing to the show and need to make travel arrangements but at this point its not taking place in Chester so use your head and plan on traveling to A/C or request a refund

When someone has hundreds of dollars invested in your product, you better get on the ball and sort your shit out ASAP. This show is 15 days away for crying out loud!!!! I need to know if I'm booking a hotel or not, like, within the next week.

what is there to figure out   TICKETMASTER HAS THE SHOW IN CHESTER LISTED AS CANCELLED its not like they are going to re-instate it

Because the band hasn't formally announced the change of venue you can't move ahead with your plans ?

once again, they are musicians not tour bookers/promoters. its not john petrucci's fault he hasnt tweeted something about it. this is the venue's/ticketmasters fault if anything

Again, no matter how you try to justify it, the fact that there hasn't been an official announcement yet is NOT FAIR to all of the people who don't go on forums and aren't as locked in to social networking/the internet as we are (yes, they exist.)

Quite frankly, I'm a little worried about the entire date being cancelled, and I don't want to go spending $500 on a hotel room for one night until I find out exactly just what in the hell is going on with this show.

So the band or their management are supposed to call each individual whom bought a ticket?
I understand your point about people who don't check the forums/internet, but just how would you expect them to find out a show has been cancelled or moved?

Like I mentioned its up to TICKETMASTER to notify people the show has been moved via e-mail and or snail mail

Just out of curiousity how far are you traveling for the show that you need a hotel for the night   Philly to AC is about 70 miles

Well, the Chester show would have taken me about two hours to get to. Atlantic City will take me at least 3 and a half. (I live in Bumblefuck.)

My only gripe, really, is teh short time frame from now to the show. Two weeks really is only a short time... concert will be here before we know it. and how many people will show up at Harrah's only to find out there it's not happening?

The show is officially in AC so I would just make your arrangements but I get your point that its weird that no announcement has been made.

Maybe the promoters are getting all their ducks in a row before the announcement. Not to mention Scotty has already said JP and the band (plus their management) are working on it. There may be more to this than a simple venue change, but we don't know.

Yep, I caught that the other day. That's progress I guess, but still no official announcement on the front page about it, or any emails from VIP Nation. 12 days....

Ticketmaster has the PA show listed as cancelled and the date changed for AC listed  but no tickets are available

Live nation as well  (VIP NATION)

my guess is they are trying to Accommodate the tickets already sold to a comparable ticket since the venues had different seating plans before sending out the e-mails than again the way ticketmaster and livenation are run who knows

Can't put the blame on the band though they have no control over these sites and how these sites do their business

I'm not putting the blame on the band at this point. Honestly, I'm just scared that they're going to inevitably cancel this date all-together and just end the tour with the 2 nights in NY. Again, the show is only 12 nights away!

Problem with that is that the comparable ticket exchanges are happening at the venue the day of the event. How will they be able to sell ANY additional tickets with that being the case? They don't know which seats will be taken

if that's the case than I would imagine all tickets sales would  occur at the box office only, day of the show

so you got an e-mail stating this from either Ticketmaster or Live Nation?

Some of the other people in this thread were saying they haven't received any notification

I did receive an e-mail from ticketmaster, which is where I purchased the ticket. I can't speak for those who purchased from VIPNation or the venue itself though.

Same here. We probably got the same e-mail that I posted here a few pages back. Hopefully it will actually be a VERY COMPARABLE seating.

But they confirmed the show in AC

I mean if your 7th row ticket at Chester now becomes a 10th row ticket would that really stop you from going to the show ?

I understand that you are trying to look out for others, but all the sites have the date and place updated , Ticketmaster has already blasted an e-mail to all who purchased tickets. It seems only those who used VIP to purchase are left to find out on their own at this point and im sure an e-mail will be sent , most places have a disclaimer somewhere on their site that as long as they give 48 hours notice they are compliant with the law

VIP Nation emails regarding the day's itinerary for the show are supposed to go out 5 days before the event, so they have 5 days left to sort all of this shit out....

EDIT: IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME.

Dear Dream Theater July 21 fans,

We have just been alerted that there has been a venue change for the Chester, PA show on July 21, 2012. It has been moved to Caesar’s in Atlantic City, NJ.

yeah about time vipnation sends something out, but i think it's odd because they knew for almost two weeks. i think they're hoping people don't respond in time since they only gave 2 days to cancel for refund.
