If you read what I posted you'd see that exchanges are being handled by Caesars, not harrahs

The TM supporter I first talked to referred me to Harrah's + plus gave me the number to Harrah's.

After I got an answer from Harrah's/Caesars. I then wrote back to TM and got this answer in return
Quote
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Since the venue has changed to Caesars Atlantic City we need to assist you with either a refund or an exchange for seats at Caesars Atlantic City. The ticket that you have are no being valid for the new venue. We will offer you the comparable seats at Caesars Atlantic City.

I later got this repley from TM
Quote
Thanks for your response.

The tickets to DREAM THEATER at CAESARS ATLANTIC CITY aren’t on sale yet.

At this time we can cancel your order #15-43859/PHI and issue a full refund for the cancelled event at Harrah's Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack. It usually takes 3-10 days to receive the refund back to your card.

Once the tickets are available to purchase for DREAM THEATER at CAESARS ATLANTIC CITY you can contact us and we can help you purchase comparable seats.

We’re extra careful with our fans’ transactions, which is why we need to confirm a couple things before we issue a refund for order #15-43859/PHI!

The important thing for me is that I can get a comparable seat. The change of venue doesn't really matter to me, although my hotel expenses just got a bit higher

STILL no official announcement from the band or VIP Nation?! This is getting ridiculous. People spent their hard earned money to go to this show, and they quietly change the venue overnight make NO announcement about it??? I guarantee you there are still many people who bought tickets for the Chester show and have no idea about the venue change.

This whole clusterfuck doesn't make any sense to me. There are MANY other venues in the Philly area where they could have held this. The Keswick Theater, The Tower Theater, The Merriam Theater.... But NO, let's move the whole fucking show to another STATE so people are forced to spend more money. And if ticket sales where the problem, then why do they think that they'll somehow be better in Atlantic City?

You know, I wondered this too when they announced the tour dates. Of all the places in Philly to go, they pick Harrah's? Hell, even the Electric Factory would be better... I'm wondering if all the other places were booked or something

Frankly I'm really surprised DT haven't made a peep about this.

I know I'm opening a can of worms here, but love him or hate him MP would have probably let people know this was coming and what to do about it before or as it was happening. I'm sure DT are now letting management handle this kind of thing, but that being said management is fucking up big time on this one by not being much more pro-active with info.

I purchased my ticket though VIP Nation and I've yet to receive any notifications from them. I think I'll call them right now. This whole thing is such utter horse shit.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with VIP Nation. Apparently they're waiting on information from the band's management before they sound out an email with instructions. Isn't this something that DT should have gotten on, um, like, RIGHT AWAY???

i emailed VIPnation this morning expressing my concern and got no response. However, After work I went online and my order was changed to Atlantic City. That was nice, it would've been a great idea to contact me though. I called and confirmed everything was ok.

Its weird that they didn't have this concert at Merriam Theater or the Tower Theater. Its usually a sellout crowd there but AC should be cool

I still think that it has something to do with Aerosmith being at the Wells Fargo on the same night. I know that one might not think that the two bands have similar markets, but Aerosmith just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite hard rock bands, and I was planning to check out their show until I found out it was on the same night as DT, so there you go.

Rkesiter, thanks for the heads up! I checked my VIP Nation account, and my ticket does indeed say Caesars.

Excuse the double post, but wow.... STILL no official word from the band or VIP Nation about this. Does the BAND even know that the venue has changed?! This really isn't fair to all of the people who don't go on forums and aren't as locked in to social networking and the internet. I guarantee you that there are still tons of people who bought tickets for this show who have NO idea about this.

The whole series of events surrounding this show is just one giant clusterfuck:

1.) Dream Theater will be closing out the second leg of their North American tour at a race track in Chester. (Um, ok....)

2.) Oh, btw, the show is ages 21 and up. So if you're younger, you're shit out of luck.

3.) Oooops, my bad, the kiddies can still come! :)

4.) Actually, we're moving this bitch to a whole other state at a different Casino. (Shhhhh, it's a secret!)

5.) ???

publicity@roadrunnerrecords.com

inquiring who should be responsible for notify the fans and why the band hasn't done so yet

Yeah this is getting redonkulous.

Some of us find out about these things because we are on facebook/forums etc but there are many fans that have made plans but still do not know that the venue changed.

FYI, I've been in contact with JP, the tour manager and the band's manager, and I've been told that they are working to resolve the issue.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.
