"HD" versions of SC and BC&SL
« on: April 14, 2012, 10:18:02 AM »
Not sure if there is already a thread about this or if it just got passed over or lumped in with the 2012 North American tour dates press release, but this news caught my eye. If these get the same treatment that ADToE did as far as being less brickwalled, then they might be worth it. Also, I wonder if the BC&SL version will be all three discs (regular, instrumental sans solos, covers) or just the regular disc. My gut says just the regular, but if it's all three then I will definitely be purchasing.

What what? I must have missed this news.

SC is their worst offender for loud mastering, so if these are any better at all, it would make a world of difference, and I'd consider getting it.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Yeah, it was just kinda thrown in there in the blurb before the tour dates. Easy to miss.

Yeah, I probably just skimmed it and saw the same old news and missed that tacked onto the end there. They really should have mentioned that separately!

Whoa! Great news! These are in FLAC format, correct? Anyone know of any FREE programs that convert FLAC into WAV so I can burn these to CD? I haven't bought ADTOE in HD yet, but I've read good things about it on here, so I'm excited to hear about the release of the prior 2 albums in HD!

Audacity should be able to convert to WAV. I know it can convert to MP3 by using the LAME plugin so WAV should actually be easier.

I'll buy all three once they do this the right way and make them available on DVD-A, preferably with a 5.1 mix.

I used DVD-Audiofile to create a DVD-A .iso from the 24/96 FLAC files, then just burned that to a DVD. Works great.

The 24/96 version of ADTOE is a big improvement in terms of dynamic range. If they give the same proper treatment to SC and BC&SL, it'll be a no-brainer purchase for me.

It would be cool if they add raw dog as a bonus track for black clouds, besides the cover songs too, of course! :tup
I don' t care that much for the instrumental versions without the solos...
A little off topic, but I think it would be really really cool instrumental "versions" of the songs, with the vocal melodies replaced by guitars or keyboards.
ok, ok, too much whish list in one post! ;D

I can't even get that far, as soon as I click add to cart the website gives me a message saying that it is not available in my country.

Really. I like the song and wanted it in quality betterr than mp3. Also I think that it fits the black clouds style... just my opinion!

I may do something like this at some point, but the price was quite steep for a digital download, which I generally don't ever buy out of principle.

There was a really good discussion about ADToE HDtracks version on MP forum, but it got deleted for no obvious reason.
