I take back whatever I've said about the new Ghouls. They look like they're having so much fun and they kick ass. I miss Simon, Martin, and Hendrick, but these guys are great.

Here's Zombie Queen from a few weeks back. Skip ahead to 6:20. When the Ghouls line up behind each other and Papa does the double take and goes to hide but comes back  :lol

I've really enjoyed these summer clips. The whole band is interesting, especially the ghouls. I've never heard a note of Ghost before this tour, but as currently constituted, this is a great live band.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I really dig this song.  I wish they played it during the tour with Iron Maiden.

The song is OK. honestly, this isn't a band I'm likely to get into. The touring band he had was awesome. If there were some consistency with the members, that'd be one thing. But he is so unoriginal. Alice Cooper still kills him.

I'm guessing Papa IV is getting close to be introduced....

But... but... if you love the females orgasms!

(When I saw them open for Maiden, the band was good, the music was better than noise - and that's a compliment, as I was clearly there to see Maiden, and not initially interested in a bunch of clowns in masks going by the name "Nameless Ghoul No. x" - but I got a tremendous chuckle about his version of lathering up the crowd!)

I enjoyed them live.  It's funny and unique to see a band with these rock tunes that are very catchy singing about Satan.

It was still just so weird to see them in an arena.  It works great in a small/mid size venue, but it was just a very different experience in the huge venue, and I didn't feel like it worked very well, and I could understand some of the skepticism if that's someone's first experience with them.

I think Tobias said that Ghost IV is gonna be darker than the rest. Gone is the glitzy, young party that Papa III brought. It’ll be interesting to see what Papa IV is like. Papa I was an old guy too. This isn’t the new Papa though, is it?

Papa III is done. I think within the mythos of the band, Papa 0 is a higher-up in the satanic church who's just there to announce that III is done. The actual Papa IV will definitely be introduced at the next gig.

I hope he keeps the band that he has right now, these guys rock.

Looking forward to April now, which is when the album is supposed to come out. If past cycles hold true, we should get a single around February or so

Huh so I guess we assume Tobias is still in the band and just a change of persona? In my imagination I hope that the band is actually the previous guys that got kicked out under the masks and that Tobias really got dragged out from the stage, now that would be something else.  :lol

Yeah, this is what they do - during a show, there is a changing of the pope.  I like that - it has a theatrical element to it, and it's neat that there are two "Papa's" on stage at once.

Here's a video from 2012 where Papa Emeritus I was replaced by Papa Emeritus II.  I says his goodbyes and then II (in black) is handed the microphone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm0Y0awVExo

This tour was my first experience with Ghost. After watching clips, and then seeing them, they commanded the big stage. They were excellent. I wasn't in love with every song played, but the performance and showmanship from the BAND was fantastic.

I hope he keeps the band that he has right now, these guys rock.

I really liked the personality of the guys on stage. If it's a whole new group of guys, I will not be interested, but if it's THIS band, then I will definitely check it out.

Nah, I remember reading a few months ago that the next Papa was going to be the dad of Papas I to III and that he was pissed off at how III had drifted off from worshipping Satan and had been more interested in being a popstar. :lol And now he's here to "set things right," so to speak.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure this upcoming album cycle will indeed center around Papa 0.

That is true, but I don't think Papa 0 is their father. Maybe their grandfather.
After having such a lively frontman for the past few years, I doubt they'd replace him with this old guy character who can't even walk without help.

Yeah, and their live show keeps ramping up and filled with energy and the ghouls as well, although that's just the current members. No way they go back to older Papa I-like frontman.

It's actually amazing how each Papa is so different personality-wise, each is pretty distinct. Papa I was a bit older, had more of a mysterious personality, Papa II was professional and very ritualistic, and Papa III was the life of the party, although this was hinted at with Papa Emeritus II (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_8UNS8ferE) I will miss the mannerisms of Papa III, the shows were filled with energy.

Speaking of that, they went all out with Pyro at the end of Year Zero in Sweden the other night
Starting at the 4:00 mark.

It's nice to have a live version of Ritual finally. Thankfully too, they recorded on a night where it was the last song of the set, so we get the extended outro

The iTunes version I downloaded is:
Quote
1. Square Hammer
2. From the Pinnacle to the Pit
3. Con Clavi Con Dio
4. Per Aspera Ad Inferi
5. Body and Blood
6. Devil Church
7. Cirice
8. Ghuleh/Zombie Queen
9. Year Zero
10. Spöksonat
11. He Is
12. Mummy Dust
13. Absolution
14. Ritual
15. Monstrance Clock

But, the actual CD version listed on the website has a different tracklisting:
https://bodega.lomavistarecordings.com/collections/ghost/products/ghost-ceremony-and-devotion-cd

Also, no DVD/Blu-Ray?  Weird. A live album is cool, but this is a show that needs to be seen and heard.

Bummed no video release, even the music video for Absolution Live is just pictures not an actual video:

Oh well, I'm not a big enough fan to purchase the CD, but I would have bought a blu-ray.

Kev, someone (sorry I forgot who you are) gave me Square Hammer on my Roulette and while Ghost wasn't the best new band I was introduced to, it was the best song submission I received for the whole game. I have been enjoying Meloria much more than their other two albums. Looking forward to your thoughts.

I am almost halfway through Meloria.

I loved From the Pinnacle to the Pit and Circle.

Spirit and Spöksonat both sounded solid, but didn't grab me like the others yet.

That hook in He Is is just fantastic.
