So this is definitely my favorite album of theirs and one of my favorites of the year. Stellar stuff.

I need a few more spins to make a fair judgement (Opeth pun!) but it sounds like another brilliant one. At the moment it can't top Infestissumam as their best one though. Favourite so far (of the ones they didn't release as a youtube video) is Mummy Dust.

This is good dudes.  IMO they've had some mind-blowingly good tracks on their other two albums but neither one was super consistent.  This one is awesome start to finish.

Definitely awesome, and they brought the prog on this one, as well.

Deus in Absentia sounds like it could be a TDH song.

I liked this, maybe even slightly more than the first two. Still, not one of my favorites of the year or anything, but another good album from them. :)

No way, it's the ending of Majesty that is so damn epic and glorious! It gives me chills every time. In what has already been a fantastic year for new releases, this one will probably wear the crown and wield the scepter as Album of the Year.  :hefdaddy  "He Is," "Deus in Absentia," "Cirice," and "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" are my personal favorites. I bought the CD at Best Buy and it even came with three Ghost trading cards.

The keyboard being so present was not something I was expecting on this release. It's awesome! I know that they still have the same guy in that spot, so it's nice to see him so prevalent. That Mummy Dust solo is awesome.

You can tell they changed drummers too, the playing is tight and a bit more experimental then the last two (one actually, because the drummer on this one is also the one who played on Opus).

This album really really grew on me. I'm loving it.

Intriguing...where are you finding this info?

My suspicion (based on playing style) is the the bass player changed after OE, but has been the same since.  Any information there?

I love pretty much everything about this album so far.  It surpassed my lofty expectations, and will probably be my favorite of the three when all is said and done, and probably a contender for my #2 album of the year (I don't think it will dethrone my current #1).

The awesome part is that I got it free at Best Buy.  I noticed that all the CDs were mispriced at $1.99 on the CD, but the display said $9.99.  I'm pretty sure they were supposed to read $11.99 because BB usually has new releases on sale for a week or two.  I pointed it out to the manager and stated I wanted to pay the proper price and that I was only pointing it out so they could fix it before an unreasonable customer came in.  After about two minutes of insisting that I wanted to pay the proper price (and honestly I did), he just gave it to me for free, and said he'd call it broken merchandise.  Well, he was kind of right, because the plastic teeth that hold the CD were broken when I got home.

This one is getting closer every day to topping Infestissumam for me as their best. Mummy Dust, He Is, Absolution, and Spirit rank among their very best.

It's an increddibly good album. I love everything about it, Mummy dust probably being the weakest track on there.
They're doing or have just finished a hillarious short promo un(holy)plugged tour in the US currently, some great footage to be found on Youtube and FB. They even had the 'clergy lady' from the clips on one date introducing them. The do three songs only with Ghuleh/Zombie Queen accompaniment by Papa on Kazoo....  :rollin
Great response all over.

I remember reading around the time that Infestissumam came out that the first album was mainly comprised of Magna Carta Cartel members, which isn't surprising since Good Morning Restrained came out after Ghost first started forming. It mentioned how the drummer on that album was Arvid Persner, the lead guitarist's brother, and that he recorded the drums for that album but was unable to tour with the band. Apparently, he's back now. And he makes an appearance in the Cirice video apparently as the weird guy in the suit clapping at the end...

The old drummer is Aksel Holmgren who now plays with a Swedish band called The Great Discord
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEKcl8MzWLQ (Watch the drummer, the styles and setup are very similar).

The bass player, I'm not sure about. Some say it was the bass player in a Death Metal band called Maim and others have said he's the keyboard player's son.

The keyboard player has been the same since Infestissumam. Before that album came out, it was just a guy standing behind a keyboard miming along.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that it didn't make it. It's such a great track!

I'm looking forward to hearing the cover CD that they've apparently been working on too

And according to Billboard.com, the band is looking to break the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 at #8. For reference, Opus obviously didn't even chart and Infestissumum debuted at 28. This is awesome news!

It's cool to see that his band is blowing up. They sold 29,000 copies of their new album in the United States last week.

I think their last album opened up with 17 or 18 thousand, for comparison's sake.

I'm looking forward to the US tour starting up. They keep saying that they've upped the production for this tour and that Papa is going to be quite the showman--which will be cool to see because there hasn't been much change in what he normally does onstage besides maybe a bit more banter with funny comments.

At one of the festivals, before Monstrance Clock, Papa was asking if the crowd was going to sing along to the song:
"Some of you might know the lyrics, some of you might not. Nobody is perfect. These lyrics are very simple even an imbecile could figure it out. So listen to most of the song and eventually you will figure it out. When it's your turn to sing, I will give you a cue. YOU OVER AT THE HOT DOG STAND, are you going to sing with us!?"

I forgot about that  :lol

At the Leeds gig when he's clapping out the rhythm to Majesty:
*Crowd clapping along, Papa points at someone in the crowd*
"You too, tough guy"

There was another one where it was raining out and Papa goes:
"How are you doing out in the rain? Are you wet because of the rain though?"
Someone throws a bra onstage, Papa picks it up:
"Oh, thank you.... I will keep this dry for you"

That's beautiful. The guy somehow never fails to crack me up! I also like the fact he seems to know exactly where the boundaries lie as to how far to take the act.
I watched some footage of a great concert in Chili (with a totally fantastic crowd, btw) where he goes into this whole spiel about 'you know what this song is about do you? It's about blood. (shrieks from the crowd) 'it's about someone else's blood! (more shrieks) 'it's about......(dramatic pause) DRINKING someone else's blood!' hahaha! (total shrieks of horror from the crowd).

That's as far as I've ever heard him go, though. Other than 'Monstrance Clock' being about 'fucking' .

Also, at the Denmark or Sweden show this year, at one of Papa III's first shows: 'I've had some comments about my shoes. That I'm showing some ankle. Mmmm. Nothing wrong with a little nudity, is there?'  ;D
