This is soooooo good.  Gets better with every listed.

The most unexpected thing is the Beatles-esque turns in Body and Blood...though the Dick Dale style in ZQ isn't far behind.

Since listening to Ritual a bunch of times the other day after millahh mentioned it in a thread about awesome fadeouts (and rightfully so), I've been meaning to check these guys out.  Their gimmick is a little tired IMO, but if their music is half as good as indicated by the one song I've heard, I can easily overlook it.  Should I start by listening to their first album or the one that just came out?

The 1st album is very special to me and a great place to start. There is just a spark to it

Glad to be of service!

I'd probably start with the original...short & sweet, makes a good baseline against which to listen to the new one, and is just generally great.

That was one of the best sounding shows i've been to at Sunshine Theater.  The band was tight and it was pretty cool.

Fuck.

You'll enjoy it. That show proved their really good musicians.

Ides of Gemini kinda got boring, but they had redeeming instrumental bits.

I was definitely impressed by how tight they were when they opened for Opeth/Mastodon.  I felt like they upstaged the headliners.

Maybe it was the fact that I had already seen Opeth 3 times prior and Mastodon 3 times prior, but Ghost most definitely stole the show during the Seattle show last year.

Actually listened to both albums this weekend, starting with the original.  There's really lots of good stuff on both, will need more listens to appreciate.  I do like the brevity of their debut, they packed a lot into that 35 minutes or whatever.

I've listened to the new album 10 times since I got it Thursday.  Needless to say I love it, and my favorite song has changed a few times already.

Just heard the new album. It's amazing.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Anybody heard the bonus track yet, "La Mantra Mori."

It's a great track, cool opening and a cool riff. It features acoustic guitar too

I've been listening to Papa's other band (in real life) and there are a few references to Ghost, or what would become Ghost. There's a song called Son of May by the band Subvision which is fronted by Papa and it makes reference to secular haze. I found it kinda interesting

I like to completely ignore anything the people from Ghost do outside of Ghost because I want it keep it's mystique.

I just know the lead singer. And he's still a mystery to me since only 3 pictures seem to exist of him.

  • Favorite song by Europe: Carrie.
Picked this up yesterday, great album. It's got the same sort of psychedelic hard rock feel that early Blue Oyster Cult had, though BOC was rarely this catchy. Really like it, even if Zombie Queen's been stuck in my head for the last fifteen or so hours.  :lol

Man, the deluxe edition was really worth buying. The lithograph is HUGE!

Which version is this? I bought the deluxe version wit the bonus tracks, but it doesn't have a lithograph? Are you talking the set that has the vinyl?
