Love this movie, my favorite from Kevin Smith easily.

Same here. Mallrats was fun but Jason Lee and Ben Affleck seemed to be trying to force that Clerks "magic" either by their own choosing, outside influence, or a little of both. Chasing Amy had its moments but the chick flick vibe that dominates a bit of the latter part drags it down. Dogma is awesome when working the comedy angle but a tad tedious when forcing the philosophy/beliefs angle regardless of how much Kevin Smith and I may agree on many issues. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is probably the closest any other KS movie's come to Clerks for me but I think the low-budget charm of Clerks coupled with how shitty the acting of most of Shannon Elizabeth's gang was makes Clerks the hands-down winner.

That's about all I've seen of his films that I can recall.

You haven't seen Clerks II?

It's not as good as the first and it's too obviously trying to reclaim that same magic, but it's still pretty damn funny.

I have but I was "occupied" throughout and didn't retain much of the goings on.

God I wanna fucking watch Clerks now
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
