I find the lowest form of comedy is filth.

People like Jimmy Carr are popular because people love dirty jokes AND they take zero wit or intelligence to come up with.

Which is why normal everyday people - when they cant think of anything funny to say - they'll just spout filth.

All the new comedy shows on tv are just filth and swearing. Nothing is funny anymore.

Sounds like the only Carrey movie you've seen is "Me, Myself, and Irene." He's not a very vulgar person. This stuff is more along his usual.

Slapstick, when done well, is hilarious at any age.  But when not done well, it is supremely unfunny.

One of my favorite scenes of Physical Comedy is from All of Me. Steve Martin is fantastic portraying a man with a woman trapped inside of him.
