I won't vote on this album, but I'll vote for all the others, including Calling All Stations, which I've actually heard enough to form some opinions about.  I've had the first album a lot longer, and played it many more times, but they all blur together and usually I end up waking up and realising that I missed most of it.

I have to echo Orbert.    I'm a new Genesis convert.   I bought all the box sets when they came out, and I've listened to them constantly ever since.   They are all  :hefdaddy

But alas...I know almost nothing of this album.   At least, not enough to form any knowledgeable opinion.   So I must bow out of the first round.

Looking forward to round 2.

Great to see that the Genesis survivor is under way!

But I will also abstain from this album, I only listen to In The Wilderness from this debut. I'll start my participation with Trespass.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

Okay, I voted for "Window" just because if no one votes at all, we'll never get to the good stuff.

Actually...I'm listening to it right now.   I will vote in about an hour based on first impressions, and then listen to it a few more times over the next few days so that I have something to contribute.

Actually kinda like the first two songs out of the gate.

Just had to chime in and say that I'm surprised at how much I am *REALLY* enjoying this album!!  I really think it was very forward thinking (and hinted at their prog future) the way they open Side 2 with the same riff that ended side 1.    Really love both In the Wilderness and The Conqueror.

So far, the only track that gave me a big MEH on the first listen was Fireside Song, so unless I hear something I actively dislike, my vote will probably be for that.

I'm a big Genesis fan, but I've never heard this album. I'll vote once we get to Trespass.
WHOA, NICE GRAPHICS!

It's not that I don't enjoy it.  It's actually very good stuff, especially considering that they were literally still kids when they made it.  Mike, Anthony, and Tony are all great.  Peter's voice shows great subtlety and strength for one so young.  But for all that, it's still something of a proto-Genesis album for me, and still a relic of the 60's.  A dozen short songs packed onto an LP.  Good songs, but just not my thing.

The difference in sophistication in their writing between the first album and Trespass is huge.  FGTR is like their WDADU.  Just as many consider Images and Words to be DT's first "real" album, so is Trespass the first real Genesis album.  Same band, except for one member, but it's much more than just the one guy making the difference.  It's the level of maturity in the composition and approach.

And before anyone blasts me, yes I realize that WDADU is still pretty prog and musically much closer to IAW.  It's different to me for another reason.

Closer to the difference between Rush and Fly By Night, if you ask me...

And with good reason - they're likely the band's least listened albums, but I'm going ALL OUT on this Survivor. All 15 albums, nearly all of the Non-album songs, and full consolation and finals rounds!
