Let's hear it for Wilt, who played with the Harlem Globetrotters before entering the NBA.
During his rookie season in the NBA he averaged 37.6 points and 27 rebounds per game. This would be unthinkable nowadays.
During his second season, he set the all-time record of 55 rebounds in one game. WTF
In the 1962 season, when he hit the 100-point mark in one game, he averaged 50.4 points per game, becoming the first and only NBA player to hit 4,000 points in one season. In fact, the only other player to ever hit 3,000 points in one season was Michael Jordan in the 86-87 season. He also averaged 48.53 minutes per game, another record that will never be broken.
After the NBA career, he took up volleyball. Why not? He also participated in several marathons.
Truly one of the most physically dominant players in the history of the game.
