Caught him at a dinner club about 7-8 years ago, he put on a great show.  Though a little dated, the old Monkees episodes were pretty damned funny.

I loved The Monkees TV show when I was a kid, and had their cassette tapes(!). Their show was a pretty unique kind of humor, but I loved it. And I applaud them from trying  to take the reigns of their musical direction. It pissed Don Kirschner off, but it's not like they wanted to split the atom, they just wanted to write some rock songs that better suited their personalities (and what they thought their fans would want to hear).

Bummer.  At least I got to see them once.  Without Mike, but The Monkees in the 80's were Davy, Mickey, and Peter.  I grew up watching their show, too.  Crazy humor, lots of fun.
