Considering our variations in album rankings, I'm surprised at these rankings, they are different, but generally consistent.

Dude, your opinion is cool, but I am confused for your love for The Days of Gays.

I think there are a few good songs on The Days of Grays, but overall it's really dull.

I don't understand what's not to like about TDOG. The Last Amazing Grays ended up being my favorite song of 2009. SO GOOD

That song and Deathaura are pretty good, no doubts there.

Everything else just doesn't really stand out, and the songs don't speak to each other.

Definitely agreed, this is my main problem with the album.

Oh come on. Juliet, The Dead Skin, Zeroes, As If The World Wasn't Ending, and Everything Fades To Gray aren't good? Seriously. And the bonus track is really good too

TDOG would have been my biggest dissapointment of that year.

Nah the biggest disappointment of 2009 was definitely Stratovarius' new album

Does not compute.

tDoG was certainly my least favorite album SA has produced, I hope for their next release they backtrack to their Unia-style sound.

Looks like people really love TDOG or really hate it!

Don't forget Deathaura! If you mean In the Dark by the bonus track, I have to say it's quite dull. But Nothing More and In My Eyes You're a Giant are great, especially the former!

That was quite an okay album IMO, nothing mindblowing but some good songs nevertheless.

In the Dark is the bonus track for the digipak. It's an ok ballady song but nothing special. Nothing More is the bonus track for Japan; it's a double-bass song like Flag in the Ground but much darker.

Sonata used to be one of my favourite bands.
Unia was a big disappointment, initially, but has grown on me a little.
TDoG is more of the same, too many vocals and lyrics, too many layers of Tony's vocals.
Not enough room for the music to, for a better word, 'breathe', for me.
The vocals seem to suffocate everything else.

I bought the Japanese version (as I always buy everything Sonata have done) a year ago and probably
have only managed to listen to it a few times, it is getting better, but it will never be in my essential Sonata listening.
Actually the two Jap bonus tracks, are among the most interesting for me, as they have some decent riffs and less of Tony.

I'll always love the first 4 albums and regard them as some of the finest of the power metal genre.

I don't think a new album will be released soon, they have quite many tour dates coming up and the gap between 2 albums has lately been about 2½ years, so I think it'll remain the same.
