You can hear a sample of Cloud Factory here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IJWOIYK/ref=sr_1_8_rd?ie=UTF8&child=B00IJWOJJ4&qid=1393074465&sr=1-8%3C/a%3E

I know it's just a 30-second clip, but I already like it more than The Wolves Die Young :D

Will there be a music video for Cloud Factory? Cause if so, I hope the conceptual footage shows factories inside clouds :lol

Seriously though, sounds like it's gonna be another good song.

Henkka responded to some comment in his blog and said the second music video will be Love, but there may be a lyric video for Cloud Factory.

I liked Wolves Die Young, even though it doesn't really feel like a groundbreaking song or a future classic. However, the Cloud Factory sample felt pretty boring if I'm honest, I hope it'll sound better as a whole song.

Still not completely sure what to expect from this album. In my opinion both of the songs we've heard so far sound like they're from Stones Grow Her Name with some elements from Ecliptica and Silence. Basically that's combining the albums that I don't like so much and ignoring the ones I love.  :lol Of course we'll have to wait for the whole thing to come out before making any conclusions though.

I actually got more like RN vibe from those. Only listened to Cloud Factory sample once, but got a feeling its similar to Aint Your Fairytale. Wont listen more till album arrives.

Sounds pretty good.  Again, it gives me the same vibe as wolves, Unia meets RN.

I'm getting no vibes at all, in fact it will be the first Sonata that I will not be buying, and coming from someone who owns 55 Sonata Arctica CD's.

Have you bought 55 Stones Grow Her Name CDs?

Sorry, couldn't help.

I don't know, this album sounds great so far. But your choice anyway.

Actually Stones Grow, is the only Sonata album that I have just the one version of.
All the others I have multiple versions, all the singles, promo's etc.
But the rarest item in my Sonata collection is not a CD, record or promo.
I was lucky enough to be given a few years back, the master mini disc of a live concert that was used for the Successor EP.

Reading back at this comment, I think you will quickly cave and purchase the album.  Especially considering you collection.

So the first signed single is finally arrived to my door (not the best idea to sign it upon the S letter on logo, guys) and I did a couple of proper listens to the song. Not too keen on the verses vocal melodies, but the bridge and chorus are totally awesome. Also liked the solo, but it was somewhat too short. Overall it's solid, would be in top5 on SGHN for me, but as my expectations for this one are quite high, I expect other songs will be even better.

Usually it doesn't do me any good, but still.

I expect I'll be in the minority but I thought that was awful!

That's understandable, it's an odd song. I think it's rough around the edges but I like it.

Wow, that's a lot better than I expected. The 30-second sample made it sound dull, but as a whole it's actually a stellar power metal song. And I like my Sonata Arctica with some goofiness, so I'm glad we have some of that here.  :metal

Not an extremely exciting song, but better than The Wolves IMO. Sonata's singles rarely are the best songs on their respective albums, so I'm expecting to hear better stuff on the album.

That's pretty understandable.

I wouldn't go that far, but it's certainly nothing special.  It still gives me the RN mixed with Unia feel, but SA usually need quite a few listens, especially with songs like this one.

If Google's translation isn't totally off, it says that SA's Japanese label asked them to re-record Ecliptica and they'll do it later this year. I don't find re-recording old songs necessary, but I'm curious to hear the final result, because I like the 2006 remakes of My Land and Replica. Also, if this means that Destruction Preventer may return to the setlist, I'm stoked! :caffeine:

If Tony has better accent on it, and it comes in something different than jewel case, I'll buy it.

And if I thought The Wolves Die Young was mediocre-maybe-good, Cloud Factory is downright awesome.

If this is true, I wonder why out of all of their labels, their Japanese one is the one to ask them to re-record the entire Ecliptica album. :lol
A new version of Kingdom For A Heart would be nice, cause the one off Ecliptica sounds like I'm playing some intense arcade style shoot 'em up :rollin

Oh yes, that's gonna be the biggest improvement :lol Maybe he'll also rework the vocal melodies to fit his natural range - his vocals are pretty squeaky in some songs :P There would also be more consistent tempos, as Tommy has said that he recorded the drums for Ecliptica without a click. Wow, I just realized how many good reasons there are for re-recording this album! :D I love the original album for nostalgia reasons, but an update won't make it any worse.

Tony was right about the original Ecliptica, it sounds outdated. F**k, even Stratovarius' earlier albums sounds "newer" compared to it, and that reason alone is good enough reason for me the album deserves to be re-recorded.

It isn't noticeable in the fast songs, but for example in My Land the intro is pretty slow until the drums come in and the final chorus is clearly faster than the previous ones.

It was a very young band recording their first album and it's not prefect.
I've never noticed anything wrong with the drums or anything else.
Still sounds great to me, I played it on vinyl last month and I love everything about it.

Track-by-track video #2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmA-Nv050fQ I thought WDYDITWD? was an awful title when the tracklist was announced, but after hearing the guys' comments on it, I think it may become one of my favorites.

BTW, Sonata just premiered Cloud Factory and played San Sebastian for the first time in 6 years: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/sonata-arctica/2014/teatro-rival-petrobras-rua-alvaro-alvim-rio-de-janeiro-brazil-23c23c17.html
