I have given The Cleveland Show more than a fair chance, and I'll probably at least watch out the rest of the season, but there just hasn't been a single decent episode yet. The character of Cleveland never had any real appeal, but what little there was to like about him has been completely ruined in the show now anyway. I have no idea how this crap was signed for a second season before it even started.

This week's Family Guy was quite good, again very surprising considering it was mostly a Brian storyline. I think they're starting to get better again. Last season was awful, but I think it's slowly starting to pick up again. Some really funny bits in this week's episode, especially anything involving animal deaths.

This week's American Dad was pretty good too, although this season I think they've been pushing Roger's character a bit too much into the extreme this season. They're making him too blatant now with his inappropriate references, whereas he used to have some subtlety.

I'm really enjoying this season of Family Guy, I didn't like episode 2 or 3 but it is getting better.

American Dad is good as well and a pleasure to watch.

As for the Cleveland Show, well I don't really know why I'm watching anymore. I hope that it's going to be good but really I just end up watching the screen. I'll probably keep watching to the end of this season but I don't think it's going to get much better.

The Road House episode of FG was so fuckin awesome, I recorded the audio of the part where Peter was driving with his foot and saying road house everytime he turns, I set it as my ring tone, its annoying as fuck heh
The evil monkey/hannah montana episode was shitty as fuck, probably the first time I go "boy that sucked" after a Family Guy episode, excpet for the bit about the mentally challanged terrorist who tried doing a suicide attack on a building by smashing his bicycle into it hehe
Almost giving up on the Cleveland Show..
American Dad is going solid as ever imo.

Seriously, best episode in a long time. I laughed more than six times... that means it was a solid episode. Consuelo made me laugh so much. When she took the radio out :rollin

I liked the episode last night. House was great on it.

At first I wasn't sure whether it was his real voice or whether it was just a great impersonation, but when he came back the second time, I knew it.

Pretty good episode, and felt more oldschool in style than other recent ones. And other than the intro, were Brian and Stewie in it at all? And I didn't notice Meg. Seems they're not so great at balancing out the characters.

And this week's American Dad was just fucking weird.

edit: Just watched this week's Cleveland Show too, and it wasn't too bad. Maybe the most likable episode so far.

I liked this weeks American Dad... I personally think it's a pretty good show and prefer it to new FG, although I didn't see the House ep of FG.

I generally MUCH prefer American Dad to Family Guy, but Family Guy has improved a bit this season I think, and there have been a couple of weird American Dad episodes that I haven't liked as much. The rest of this season of American Dad so far has been as good as usual though.

So while the Cleveland show is pretty much a failure, for some reason I keep watching it :sadpanda:

At first when I heard of this idea, I thought Cleveland wasnt an interesting enough character to base a show off of him (I still dont). The first person who came to my mind that I would've preferred a spin-off of was Quagmire. One of the ideas I had was that he's tired of just sleeping around and finally wants to find someone to get into a serious relationship with and settle down. So the show could be like his journey or whatever.

I personally think that would be a lil better than this.

Something something something darkside was pretty much more of the same of Blue Harvest.  Occaisional funny moments, LOTS of filler, and quite a bit of recurring Family Guy jokes.  That said, it's not a total disaster, so it's better than I thought it would be.  Still, it was not immune to all of the things that keep all of the other recent Family Guy episodes from being good.

I must be the only FG fan who's not excited about SSSDS, I got it last night and still can't bring myself to watch it, I didn't enjoy Blue Harvest so I don't see why I would enjoy this one.
I think mainly it's cause I'm not a Star Wars fan and never watched the movies, even though I have them too  :lol

I just saw Something Something Something Dark Side. I think I preferred it to Blue Harvest. It had some good jokes in it, like the AT-AT stuff, and it didn't have anything like that long song that dragged it down.

No musical number, no, but there was still way too much filler.  Peter's line after cutting open the tauntaun (or DonDon) comes to mind.

It was better than regular Family Guy, and was entertaining enough to get through, but as zepp said, there was way too much filler. Too many of the jokes were kind of lame and fell flat, and it often felt like they were trying too hard.
There were too many jokes that brought it away from riffing on the film (like when he goes skiing for example). If you're going to bother doing a movie parody, stick to doing a movie parody.

I agree with that.  There were too many moments that take you right out of the parody, like the AT-AT holding his knee (like Peter did), the Juicy Fruit commercial, and Darth Stewie wanting to have gay sex with his son.

The Juicy Fruit thing didn't even contain a joke.  There was no punchline, they just recreated a commercial and you're expected to laugh at it.

There were a few fillers, like the commercial, and Peter hesitating on the Taun Taun line, but the rest didn't bother me. For a 60 minute episode, I didn't think there was that much, or maybe I'm just used to how much worse they prolong jokes now though.

However, this week's regular episode I thought was a lot better for that. Not as many cutaway gags, and I don't recall any overly drawn-out gags. I think they're starting to improve.

I'd rather see a Back to The Future parody or a Matrix parody, I don't find the Star Wars vibe likeable at all.

Well there was a BTTF reference at the end of this one, but a complete BTTF parody would have a lot of potential. And who knows, maybe after they've done the Star Wars ones they'll move onto other movies?

I'm hoping so.
They've already made tons of BTTF references through out all previous Family Guy seasons, a lot of full scenes from BTTF were parodied, that's why I doubt they'll do the whole thing now that they already played on most of it, but I'd still love to see it.

BTTF is one of my favorite movie series of all time. I'd love a parody of that.

And off-topic, Doc Brown is one of the greatest movie characters EVER

Which FG character could play him in the parody do you think?
