The most interesting part of that video is the comments below it. Apparently Dave was given 10 minutes notice that he was going to be playing the solo.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SHIT AHHHHHH

That solo still sucked. I mean, we're all entitled to one fuck up...and that was his.

UMH, I'm with you.  I was just afraid to come out of the closet until I could be sure I wasn't alone.     I don't have much of a problem with the solo either.  If it were a practiced solo for a tribute album and it was that sloppy, that's one thing.  But to come out and do it as part of a live jam that really didn't have much pre-planning, some sloppy mindless shred isn't a problem.  It was just cool that they all even decided to come out and do it in the first place.

The solo is fine. Nobody can replicate Dimes tone, but it is interesting he decided to do it on a short notice.

As a person who was actually there to see it live, I'd like to point out that my problem with the solo wasn't that it sucked.  It's that DM strutted out like the egotist that he is, as if he were going to knock us all on our asses with his mastery.  You can't see his smug grinning in the video,  but the arrogance was palpable.  If you're going to be that full of yourself, and you fall that flat, you can damn sure expect to get crucified for it.

Though to be fair, the whole thing was honestly something of a train wreck.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

Except JP w/ the intro solo.  Nailed.  It.

(Also I never clicked on the link, I just used my powers of deduction to come to the conclusion that we're talking about the Cemetary Gates cover from Gigantour, yeah?)

1.  That's awesome.
2.  The fact that you've been banned from P/R does not mean the rules about taking P/R to the rest of the forum somehow do not apply to you.

I'd like to point out that this entire thread is P/R worthy. How it hasn't been moved there yet baffles me. I'd also like to point out that I'm not the only one who is talking politics...hell, this thread is about politics.

And I also find it odd, bosk, that you choose to single me out when things like this are said...

Its an endorsement and I can't listen to Megadeth in good conscience anymore.  Maybe "The Conjuring" just to piss Dave off.  :P

Too bad, Mustaine is liable to alienate a lot of people with this (me included).  Santorum is 10 lbs of crazy jammed into a 5 lb bag.

I just lost all respect for Dave Mustaine. Irreparably.

This IS pretty much true.  It has nothing to do with the man's music, awesome as RiP may be, and was going to inevitably lead to political discussion.

Wow, did someone inject Dave with 200cc's of Fox News or something? The guy has gone off the deep end.

Conan O'Brien: It was announced yesterday that the lead singer of Megadeth endorses Rick Santorum. It's exciting because Santorum is now the only candidate that's both pro-life and pro-Megadeath!

Nah, I know Alice is a born again/Republican, but he never talks about politics. If you can blame it on anything, blame it on the bull shit that people go through after being addicted to drugs.

That's a load of crock. :lol I always loved the "I'm more right wing because I'm more mature than you," argument. If that holds true men like Noam Chomsky, Karl Marx, Obama, Dennis Kucinich, FDR, and a boat load of other incredibly amazing, influential, and intelligent people are all infantile, immature ass holes. If anything, it says something about the person making the comment.

That's no worse than when people on the left cop their condescending "I'm smarter and more enlightened than you" attitude towards those on the right (which they do all of the time).  Both sides sound douchenozzles when they cop said attitudes.
