Thomas Jefferson is on there. Hell, he wrote the damn thing. You're argument is invalid.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jefferson

See political party.
You seem to think you're being clever. Usually when a person does that, it's a good idea to make sure they're actually right first.

There's a drastic difference between the 'Democratic-Republican' party Jefferson was affiliated with, and any incarnation of the Republican party (which wasn't really a thing until the 1850s). Even then, the Republican party and Democratic party basically switched sides on many issues between the 1950s and the late 1960s. The Republican party underwent another drastic shift during the Reagan years, and another beginning around the early 2000s. They changed further still in the past few years.
Yes, the current Republican party happens to share half the name of a political party from around 200-ish years ago. That's about all the two have in common. What exactly is your point?

Thank you. Jefferson was a left wing, anti big government, pro farmer, anti business, deistic genius. Does not sound like modern day republicanism to me.

Those two are contradictions, sir.

It's bewildering to think that you could have been banned from P/R.

Correct. I disagree with the rest of your post. But, it'll be wasted time arguing something insignificant to the discussion.

I can't continue this discussion any further without getting dragged into a clusterfuck debate rooted mainly in opinions as firm as mine.

But I will point out that the bulk of Endgame's (the last Megadeth album I have listened to) lyrics tend to decry all things related to big government. Which is pretty much what Obama is all about. Add that to the fact that Dave is all "born again" these days, with Santorum being highly religious and espousing the virtues of small government... you got a Santorum endorsement.

Jefferson was a left wing, anti big government

Those two are contradictions, sir.

And you think Santorum is anti-big government?

More than Obama and Romney.

Oh crap. I forgot that on the internet, disparaging one thing means people will automatically think your in favor of the opposite.

Maybe I'll post a summary of my political views... nah it's more fun watching people getting me wrong.

I just read about it. Meh, he's confusing the line between his beliefs and, what would be, his job as President. He would  not be the first, and certainly would not be the last.

That has to do with his religion, something that's known for Republicans to do, shove religion down your throat.
EDIT: Just know I'm not personally attacking any Republicans on here, I'm talking about the candidates.

On topic though, I've never really liked Megadeth all that much aside from a few of the classics, so I've never really thought of Dave as some awesome dude, so I just take this as him being his usual crazy self.
EDIT: Also AcidLame, if you're referring to me, I was just kidding, I know that's from the Gettysburg Address :P

This thread. Just...no.
Dave's got some fucked political views, that's for sure. Doesn't stop him from being one of the best guitarists on the planet.

That doesn't. This on the other hand...
I knew, I fucking KNEW that was the video you were going to link. And I knew that I'd hate myself for listening to that solo again. Le sigh.
I really don't find the solo as bad as everyone else does. Yeah, it obviously isn't as good as how Dime played it, but it's fucking DIME.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
