That's no worse than when people on the left cop their condescending "I'm smarter and more enlightened than you" attitude towards those on the right (which they do all of the time).  Both sides sound douchenozzles when they cop said attitudes.

Agreed.  Actually, in my personal, non-Internet experience, I've encountered more left-wingers acting like smug know-it-alls than right-wingers talking about how much more mature they are.

Keep this in mind when you consider Dave Mustaine and his vast knowledge of politics, which is a reputation he's gotten because...I don't know, he wrote Peace Sells or something?

Waaaay back when. So Far, So Good, So What European tour. Megadeth is in Ireland playing a gig. Dave heard something about some sort of Cause before the gig. Dave dedicates "Anarchy In The UK" to the Cause.

Yes.

Dave Mustaine dedicated Anarchy in the UK...to the IRA...in Ireland. In the 1980s.

When you know things like this about him, silliness like him writing a song about FEMA camps and endorsing a candidate that thinks contraception should be illegal really starts to make more sense. Dave Mustaine, for all his posturing about politics, really doesn't have a frigging clue. He didn't when he was supposedly supporting the left wing, he doesn't now that he's an evangelical right winger.
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings become dust in the wake of the hymn.
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall, no more than a breath on the wind.

My understanding is that Santorum was under the impression it was under State's rights to decide whether or not contraception should be legal.

And I also find it odd, bosk, that you choose to single me out when things like this are said...

Its an endorsement and I can't listen to Megadeth in good conscience anymore.  Maybe "The Conjuring" just to piss Dave off.  :P

Too bad, Mustaine is liable to alienate a lot of people with this (me included).  Santorum is 10 lbs of crazy jammed into a 5 lb bag.

I just lost all respect for Dave Mustaine. Irreparably.

I'm going to venture a guess that those people don't have a history of pushing their luck in P/R.

A user's posting history should not matter in that instance. If everyone was doing A and a single user got called out for doing A, it's unfair.

I post this in jest, but seriously. I wouldn't complain like that publicly.

Yeah but even so how else are you going to respond to the thread?  "Oh man that's stupid but hey how about that Rust in Peace what a cool record?" :P  There's really no avenue for music discussion in this thread.  :lol

They'd be a good band if they changed everything bad about themselves.

I'm guessing he's just regurgitating some right-wing talking points, perhaps, which is fine.  I've been known to regurgitate some left-wing talking points, but I at least go through the effort of fact-checkig something before I articulate it in a public setting......Dave, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have a whole lot of interest in facts because saying stuff like this.....

Quote
"It means the same thing that's happened to all of our grandparents with their social security being taken away....."

.....really makes him sound profoundly stupid.

Nobody's grandparents are 'having their social security taken away.'  I can respect people who have different views on policy.  I can't respect people who don't even make an effort to respect the truth.

Ugh. Dave is clearly watching Fox News religiously and spewing out the same nonsensical talking points.
His response to the gay marriage question was especially disappointing and ignorant. He doesn't support gay marriage because he is Christian?

That's like not supporting the civil rights movement because you're a white male. :lol
