Dave Mustaine endorses Rick Santorum
« on: February 16, 2012, 09:45:23 AM »

Seriously, what the hell.

https://m.thehollywoodgossip.com/2012/02/dave-mustaine-megadeth-frontman-endorses-rick-santorum-for-presi/

Kinda amazing how somebody who called an album "Peace sell but who's buying" would endorse a hardliner Republican.

And in other news, Dave Mustaine endorses Rick Santorum. WTF.

rumborak
He claims he didn't actually endorse him:

I don't know how "I'm hoping that if it does come down to it, we'll see a Republican in the White House... and that it's Rick Santorum."" is anything other than an endorsement though.

Its an endorsement and I can't listen to Megadeth in good conscience anymore.  Maybe "The Conjuring" just to piss Dave off.  :P

He should start doing heroin again.  Okay so maybe not but I've lost the last miniscule amount of respect that I had for him.

Too bad, Mustaine is liable to alienate a lot of people with this (me included).  Santorum is 10 lbs of crazy jammed into a 5 lb bag.

Maybe as a musician he thinks an endorsement requires sending free stuff to the endorsed person :lol

Yup.  Not at all.

I wonder how long before him and Nugent do some shows together.  I'm sure Ted could use the exposure.

Dave's got some fucked political views, that's for sure. Doesn't stop him from being one of the best guitarists on the planet.

Sounds about right.  He's always been an idiot and didn't he turn born-again Christian when he got sober?  Dude sure can (or at least could) write some kick-ass metal tunes though.

Who cares where his political leanings are.  Should have nothing to do with enjoying his music.  I bet there are other musicians that have his same leanings that you all listen to yet they don't make it public.

A non listening issue for me.  Not that I care for Santorum.

This. And Santorum wouldn't be the next president anyway.

FYI, Dave tweeted today he DIDNT endorse anyone and the media took his comments out of context.

Check his twitter account for proof.

I just want to hear what Santorum himself has to say about this. An evil satanic heavy metal man who wants to corrupt our children, endorsing him? That can't be good for his public image.

He still pretty much endorsed him saying if anyone should be president, it should be him..

Like I just posted in the Nazi poll, I don't really care what any musician's politics are, whether I agree with them or not.

If Dave Mustaine wants to endorse Rick Santorum, that's got nothing to do with the music he's making, so I really don't care.  Even though I think Rick Santorum is pretty much an oxygen thief.

Santorum is fucking crazy, Mustaine is fucking crazy, but as long as Mustaine doesn't let his fucking crazy leak into his music, I don't really care.

What?

Is that famous guitarist Carlos Santana wearing the image of the inafamous marxist, racist Che Guevara?

How come there's no thread for that endorsement?
